Hollowell was charged with an unearned run in the 10th inning Friday without allowing a hit or a walk, recording his first save of the season in a 3-2 win over the Pirates. He didn't strike out a batter.

The right-hander entered the game after the Cubs took a 3-1 lead in the top of the 10th, and while Hollowell couldn't stop the phantom runner from coming around to score, the Bucs didn't get anyone else on base. Jacob Webb had worked the eighth inning and Caleb Thielbar the ninth, but Hollowell could be positioning himself for more high-leverage work. Since rejoining the big-league roster in late June, he's delivered a 0.00 ERA, 0.69 WHIP and 10:3 K:BB through 8.2 innings.

Barnett is slated to start Saturday's game against the Twins at Target Field, Jason Burke of Roundtable.io reports.

The Athletics called Barnett up from Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday, and after he wasn't needed in relief over the past three days, he'll end up slotting into the rotation as a replacement for the injured J.T. Ginn (finger). Barnett was a full-time member of the rotation at Las Vegas prior to his call-up, but all 13 of his appearances with the Athletics in 2026 have come out of the bullpen. As Burke notes, Barnett was limited to 38 pitches in his most recent start for Las Vegas on July 18, so the right-hander will likely be in store for a restricted workload in Saturday's outing.

Jansen struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his 12th save of the season in a 2-1 win over the Royals.

The veteran closer needed only eight pitches (seven strikes) to get the job done. Jansen has a pristine 0.00 ERA in July over 7.1 innings, allowing just three hits with an 8:6 K:BB while converting all three of his save chances. If the Tigers decide to be buyers and not sellers at the trade deadline, bullpen help will likely be at the top of the shopping list, but Jansen's spot as closer seems relatively secure.

Kittredge (1-2) was tagged with the loss in Friday's extra-inning defeat to Atlanta after allowing four runs (none earned) on two hits across two-thirds of an inning. He struck out two without a walk.

Kittredge entered the game in the top of the 10th inning trying to preserve a 3-3 tie, but he allowed four runs -- all unearned due to a throwing error by Jackson Holliday -- including a three-run homer to Matt Olson, while recording just two outs. The silver lining is the fact that since none of the runs were earned, Kittredge has now gone without allowing an earned run in 12 consecutive appearances (11 innings).

Hudson (3-3) was tagged with the blown save and the loss Friday against the Astros after allowing four runs on three hits and a walk over two-thirds of an inning. He struck out one.

Hudson entered the game with the White Sox leading by four after Davis Martin allowed one run and loaded the bases in the sixth inning. However, Hudson gave up a bases-clearing double to Christian Walker and a two-run homer to Cam Smith, and he'd allow two more baserunners before exiting the game. This outing snapped an impressive streak from Hudson, who hadn't given up a run in his previous five appearances while posting a 3.68 ERA in 14.2 innings since the beginning of June before this game.

Weng (5-6) earned the win in relief Friday against the White Sox after allowing two runs on two hits and a walk across two innings. He struck out one.

Teng pitched the fourth and fifth innings, as the Astros had to come up with a plan on the spot after Spencer Arrighetti (foot) was taken out of the game following the first inning. Teng has made 10 starts and 15 relief appearances this season, and he could be a candidate to rejoin the rotation if Arrighetti is forced to miss time.

Drohan (5-4) took the loss Friday as the Brewers fell 5-2 to the Rockies, giving up five runs on six hits and two walks over six-plus innings. He struck out six.

While he was able to keep the ball in the park, three of the six hits off Drohan went for extra bases, helping to put Milwaukee in an early hole the offense couldn't climb out of. It was the first time all season that the southpaw had been tagged for more than four runs in an outing, and while Drohan has lasted at least six innings in four straight starts, his 4.44 ERA during that span is a little less impressive than his 1.11 WHIP and 23:5 K:BB over 24.1 innings. He'll look to bounce back in his next trip to the mound, which is set to come on the road next week in San Francisco.

Gray (5-0) earned the win Friday against the Mariners after pitching a scoreless sixth inning, allowing one hit and striking out two. He did not issue a walk.

Gray entered the game in the sixth inning, and while he gave up a single to Cole Young, he closed out the inning by striking out Luke Raley and Colt Emerson. Gray needed just 14 pitches (12 strikes) to complete the frame, and the 31-year-old right-hander has been pitching well of late. He's held the opposition scoreless in six of his nine relief appearances this month, including each of the last three.

Romano gave up two hits and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Friday to record his eighth save of the season in a 5-2 win over the Brewers.

The right-hander is now 4-for-4 in converting save chances for Colorado since being added to the big-league roster in early July, and his 1.35 ERA is a massive improvement on the 10.13 mark he produced with the Angels over 11 appearances to begin the campaign. Romano's 1.50 WHIP and 5.4 BB/9 in 6.2 innings with the Rockies suggest that turnaround is likely a mirage, however. As long as he's able to keep closing the door in the ninth inning, Romano should remain the top closing option for his new team, but he should still be viewed as a very volatile fantasy play.

Latz earned his 20th save of the season Friday against the Mariners. He allowed one run on one hit and struck out one without a walk over one inning.

Latz needed 21 pitches (16 strikes) to close out the game Friday. Even though he allowed a double to Colt Emerson, who later scored on a wild pitch with two outs, Latz got the job done by retiring Julio Rodriguez on a groundout. Latz has converted each of his last 15 save opportunities, posting a 1.48 ERA and 0.70 WHIP across 24.1 innings in 19 appearances over that stretch.
