  • Angels' Trevor Martin: Claimed by Halos

The Angels claimed Martin off waivers from the Rays on Saturday and optioned him to Triple-A Salt Lake. Martin was DFA'd by Tampa Bay on Thursday after putting up a 3.97 ERA and 1.59 WHIP in 11.1 innings with the Rays, but he'll now find a new home on the West Coast. The 25-year-old will begin his tenure with the Angels at Triple-A but could be promoted at some point later in the year to give the Halos a fresh bullpen arm.

  • Rays' Trevor Martin: Loses 40-man spot

The Rays designated Martin for assignment Thursday. Martin will cede his spot on the 40-man roster to Jorge Mateo, who officially signed a major-league deal with the Rays on Thursday. The 25-year-old righty has given up four runs in 11.1 innings with Tampa Bay this year and owns a 3.09 ERA through 43.2 frames at Durham, though his inability to limit traffic may deter teams from picking him up via waivers.

  • Rays' Trevor Martin: Moving back to Triple-A

The Rays optioned Martin to Triple-A Durham on Sunday. Martin will give up his spot on the 26-man active roster to right-hander Mason Englert, who was recalled from Triple-A to start Sunday's game in Houston. Over six relief appearances with Tampa Bay this season, Martin has yielded five earned runs on 14 hits and four walks while striking out seven across 11.1 innings.

  • Rays' Trevor Martin: Rejoins big club

The Rays recalled Martin from Triple-A Durham on Sunday. The rookie right-hander will be up with the big club for the fourth time this season after giving up five earned runs with a 6:4 K:BB across 10.1 frames in his first five MLB appearances. Martin should fill a low-leverage relief role while he's with the Rays.

  • Rays' Trevor Martin: Demoted to Durham

The Rays optioned Martin to Triple-A Durham on Wednesday. Tampa Bay recalled Martin from Triple-A on May 15, but he went unused out of the bullpen for more than a week and a half before making a three-inning long-relief appearance in Tuesday's 6-1 loss to Baltimore after starter Griffin Jax (back) made an early exit. Since Martin was unlikely to be available for another day or two after the 52-pitch outing, the Rays opted to swap him off the 26-man active roster in favor of a fresh relief arm in right-hander Jonathan Heasley, who was called up from Durham.

  • Rays' Trevor Martin: Back from Triple-A

The Rays recalled Martin from Triple-A Durham on Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. In a corresponding move, Tampa Bay designated Aaron Brooks for assignment. Martin made his major-league debut earlier this season with the Rays, appearing in three games out of the bullpen, and turned in a 6.23 ERA and 4:1 K:BB across 4.1 innings. He's logged a 2.40 ERA, 1.73 WHIP and 16:8 K:BB over 15 innings at Durham.

  • Rays' Trevor Martin: Added to bullpen

The Rays selected Martin's contract from Triple-A Durham on Monday. He'll be absorbing the roster spot vacated by Mason Englert (forearm), who was placed on the 15-day injured list. Martin earned his first-ever big-league promotion after allowing just two unearned runs with an 11:6 K:BB in his first 9.1 innings with Durham.
