  • Josh Rogers RP | COL

Rockies' Josh Rogers: Earns win Monday

Rogers (1-0) allowed two runs on four hits over five innings Monday, striking out two and earning a win over the Guardians.

Rogers was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque and was thrust into action after Anthony Molina covered the first 1.2 innings Monday. It was Rogers' first MLB appearance since 2022. The 29-year-old southpaw registered a 5.44 ERA through nine starts in Triple-A this season. If Rogers sticks around on the MLB roster, he'll likely continue filling some sort of bulk relief role.

  • Jalen Beeks RP | TEX

Rockies' Jalen Beeks: Earns fifth save

Beeks allowed a run on two hits while striking out two and earning a save in Monday's 8-6 win over the Guardians.

Beeks closed out the victory despite giving up a run for the fourth straight appearance. During that span, his ERA has jumped from 2.11 to 3.20 through 25.1 frames. It was the first time he converted a save since May 13 and he's now five for eight in save chances this season. Beeks is seemingly still the main option to close games for Colorado, though his job is far from secure.

  • Lucas Sims RP | CHW

Reds' Lucas Sims: Nails down first save

Sims struck out two batters in a perfect inning and earned a save over the Cardinals on Monday.

Sims had no trouble working through the heart of St. Louis' order to finish off the 3-1 win Monday. It was his first save of the year to go along with his seven holds and 19:10 K:BB through 17.1 innings. Alexis Diaz earned saves Saturday and Sunday, leading to his day off Monday. Sims is not expected to see many save chances in the near future.

  • Daniel Bard RP | COL

Rockies' Daniel Bard: Plotting return in 2025

Bard (elbow) is back with the team, rehabbing in Denver when the Rockies have homestands, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Bard is out for the remainder of the 2024 season while he recovers from right flexor tendon surgery, but the 38-year-old wants to make a comeback in 2025. After some self-reflection, Bard came to the conclusion that he wants to see if he's "got it next spring." The former closer for Colorado will be a free agent after this season and it's currently unclear when exactly he'll be able to return to the mound in a full capacity.

  • Bryan Hudson RP | CHW

Brewers' Bryan Hudson: Collects third win

Hudson (3-0) picked up the win Monday against the Cubs. He pitched two scoreless innings with three strikeouts, allowing one hit and no walks.

Hudson entered the seventh after Brewers starter Robert Gasser allowed consecutive singles to Seiya Suzuki and Cody Bellinger to begin the inning. The lefty reliever worked himself out of the jam, fanning two batters and inducing one popup. Hudson has been a stalwart in the Milwaukee bullpen, becoming manager Pat Murphy's most dependable southpaw, firing a 0.59 ERA, 0.73 WHIP and 36:7 K:BB over 30.1 innings this season.

  • Marlins' Eli Villalobos: Booted from 40-man roster

Villalobos was designated for assignment by the Marlins on Monday.

The team needed to free up a spot on its 40-man roster for Xavier Edwards, who was activated from the 60-day injured list. Villalobos, 26, has allowed one run over 4.1 relief innings during his brief time with the big club this season.

  • John Curtiss RP | ARI

Rockies' John Curtiss: Removed from 40-man roster

Curtiss was designated for assignment by the Rockies on Monday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Curtiss was just added to the team Friday and didn't make much of an impression in his Rockies debut, allowing two runs on three hits while recording just one out. The journeyman will make way for Josh Rogers, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Albuquerque.

  • Peter Lambert RP | HOU

Rockies' Peter Lambert: Recalled from Triple-A

Lambert was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

The Rockies have scratched Austin Gomber (arm) from Monday's game and will start Anthony Molina instead. With that, Lambert will return to provide depth to the bullpen. Lambert has made 13 appearances for Colorado this season, pitching to a 7.24 ERA and 1.79 WHIP over 27.1 innings.

  • Rockies' Justin Lawrence: Lands on injured list

Lawrence was placed on the 15-day injured list Monday with a right shoulder strain, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

It's unclear how long he's been dealing with this issue, but the injury may explain Lawrence's poor form of late (six earned runs on eight hits and four walks in his last four appearances). Tyler Kinley has earned two of the Rockies' last three saves and appears to be the team's top closing option at the moment.

  • Anthony Molina SP | ATL

Rockies' Anthony Molina: Starting Monday against Guardians

Molina will start Monday's game against the Guardians, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

With Austin Gomber (arm) scratched, Molina will step in for his first career MLB start. A Rule 5 pick by the Rockies last winter, Molina has pitched to a 7.56 ERA and 1.80 WHIP in nine appearances so far this season. He's maxed out at 3.2 innings in an outing, so this will now be a bullpen day for Colorado.
