Jimmy Nelson tosses a quality start Tuesday
Brewers pitcher Jimmy Nelson put up a quality start Tuesday.
Nelson allowed three runs on four hits over six innings. He struck out five and walked one during the outing. Nelson cruised through the game until the fourth inning. Jay Bruce was able to drive in a run on a double, giving the Reds their first run.
Nelson came out for the seventh inning, and that’s when things really fell apart. After giving up two singles, Nelson hit the next two batters with pitches. He was replaced by Brandon Kintzler. Kintzler allowed one run, which was charged to Nelson, but managed to induce an inning-ending double-play before more damage was done.
The performance earned Nelson a no-decision. His next start will come against the Mets.
