Mets starting pitcher Rafael Montero (shoulder) moved his rehab assignment to Class A St. Lucie on Tuesday.

The right-hander, who has been sidelined for a few months, allowed one run on three hits and one walk in two innings. He had no strikeouts.

Montero tossed six scoreless innings in the Gulf Coast League (rookie) before joining St. Luice. He allowed five hits and no walks, while striking out six.

Rockies left-hander Chris Rusin was hit hard, but ultimately put together a solid pitching line against the Mets on Tuesday. Rusin allowed just one run on eight hits over six innings of work. He walked one and struck out five, but was overmatched by Matt Harvey, who blanked the Rockies for eight innings in the 4-0 Rockies loss.

Rusin (3-5, 4.43) ERA was matching zeroes with Harvey until he allowed a run to cross in the sixth inning.

This was Rusin's first quality start since July 20. He had posted a 7.80 ERA over his previous three starts entering play on Tuesday.

Padres pitcher Brandon Maurer was placed on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation, the team announced Tuesday.

Maurer had been struggling lately, but he attributed it to fatigue. He has given up three runs in his last 1 1/3 innings.

It seems hard to believe that folks were worried about Padres closer Craig Kimbrel just a few months ago.

Kimbrel continued to add time since those concerns with another perfect performance Monday in a one-run game against the Reds. He retired them in order in the ninth for his 32nd save, striking out Brandon Phillips along the way.

The veteran has allowed only two earned runs since May 19.

Diamondbacks pitcher Rubby De La Rosa was able to produce a quality start against the Phillies on Monday to earn his 10th win of the season.

De La Rosa allowed three runs on eight hits over six innings of work. He also struck out three and walked one. His biggest mistake was giving up a solo home run to Maikel Franco in the sixth inning.

De La Rosa is now 10-5 with a 4.55 ERA. He is 4-0 over his last five outings with four quality starts.

Marlins pitcher Brad Hand produced his longest and most effective start of the season during Sunday's 4-1 win over the Braves.

Hand allowed one run on two hits over seven innings of work. He also struck out three and walked two. His biggest mistake was giving up a solo home run to Jonny Gomes in the seventh inning. Hand received his second win of the season for his effort.

Hand was making his fifth start of the season Sunday. He has earned a quality start in two of those outings.

Braves pitcher Shelby Miller continued his winless streak during Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Marlins.

Miller allowed two runs on five hits over five innings of work, but he received a loss for his effort. He struck out four and walked three.

Miller's last win came on May 17, a span of 15 starts.

Despite struggling during the appearance, Phillies pitcher Ken Giles was to able to close the door on the Padres for a 5-3 win.

Giles came in during the ninth inning and struck out the side, but he allowed one run to score on two hits. It was his sixth save of the season.

Brewers starter Jimmy Nelson allowed four runs on eight hits in seven innings. He left trailing in the game, but a Brewers rally against St. Louis allowed him to escape with a no-decision on Sunday. 

Nelson lasted six or more innings for sixth straight start. He struck out eight for the third time in the last five outings.
