Kahnle overcame two walks to close out the ninth inning of his team's victory. He now has a 2.51 ERA in 28 2/3 innings this season.

Reds closer Aroldis Chapman struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning to protect a three-run lead over Arizona on Saturday.
Chapman converted his 14th straight save opportunity and struck out multiple batters for the fifth straight appearance. He now has 24 saves for the season.

Pirates RP Mark Melancon picks up save Saturday
Despite struggling during his appearance Saturday, Pirates pitcher Mark Melancon was able to record the final three outs during the 6-5 win over the Dodgers to earn the save.
Melancon allowed one run on two hits, but he received his 35th save of the season for his effort. He also walked one and struck out one during the outing.

Rockies reliever Tommy Kahnle earned his first career save on Friday, and manager Walt Weiss must have liked what he saw.
On Saturday, Weiss officially announced that Kahnle would be the Rockies' closer, at least for the near future, per the Denver Post.

Phillies RP Ken Giles notches fourth save of the season
Phillies relief pitcher Ken Giles recorded his fourth save of the season on Friday against the Padres.
Giles closed out the 12th inning of his team's win by striking out two batters. He gave up two single, but never put himself into trouble during the outing.
Giles now has an impressive 1.69 ERA with 63 strikeouts and 21 walks in 49 innings of relief this season.

Raisel Iglesias loses fourth in last five for Reds
Reds' starter Raisel Iglesias suffered a hard-luck loss to Arizona on Friday.
Iglesias matched a season low by allowing one run in six innings, but the Reds were shut out. He lost for the fourth time in the last five decisions and dropped to 2-4 on the year.
Iglesias gave up a home run for the sixth straight start.

Braves reliever Arodys Vizcaino pitched a scoreless ninth, Friday against Miami, to earn his second save of the year.
Vizcaino has earned saves in his last two outings and hasn't given up a run in his last nine appearances.

Rockies reliever Tommy Kahnle recorded the first save of his career, as he closed out the 5-4 win over the Nationals on Friday. Kahnle struck out a pair, including Bryce Harper to end the game.
Kahnle picked up the save on his 26th birthday. He has been a very pleasant surprise for the Rockies this year. He has not allowed an earned run in each of his past nine appearances, and owns a 2.60 ERA over 27 2/3 innings in 2015.

Arodys Vizcaino earns first save as closer for Braves
It took nearly a week after Arodys Vizcaino was declared the new closer for the Braves for a save situation to crop up. It finally did in a one-run game Thursday against Miami and he was up to the task.
Vizcaino allowed a one-out single to Ichiro Suzuki, but retired Adeiny Hechavarria and Tomas Telis to close it out for his first career save. He has allowed just one run in 12 2/3 innings this season.
