Stephenson will be optioned back to Triple-A Louisville following Tuesday's start against the Rockies, the Cincinnati Enquirer's C. Trent Rosecrans reports.

The hard-throwing righty prospect had a good showing Tuesday, allowing one run on three hits and two walks while striking out three over seven innings, but it was not enough to keep him up with the big club. There are undoubtedly some things that don't jump off the box score that Stephenson could work on at Triple-A, but now that he has been solid in two big league starts this year, it seems inevitable that he will be back up sooner than later. Alfredo Simon will presumably return to the rotation after missing a start with biceps tendinitis.

Lambson was shaken up in Friday's loss as he walked three batters and gave up two runs in 1.1 innings.

Up until Friday's outing versus Memphis, Lambson had been a solid option from the bullpen. In his first three games he gave up just one hit over 3.1 innings, striking out five along the way. Only time will tell if his performance Friday will be the norm, or simply an outlier, but the team has reason to believe that he can become an asset to them (at least at the minor league level) as he has had two straight seasons with an ERA below 2.50. However, in each of those seasons he played in both Double-A and Triple-A, so whether or not he can maintain strong performances at a higher level has yet to be seen.

Suter is 0-1 and has a 6.30 ERA after two starts this season.

Finishing last season in Double-A Biloxi, Suter impressed the team by posting a 5-3 record with a 1.95 ERA. The organization found that performance deserved another shot at Triple-A Colorado Springs. However, Suter has yet to deliver. He was easy to hit in his opening game, as opponents hit .471 and earned three runs in four innings. His second start wasn't a major improvement, as he lasted six innings and gave up four runs along the way.

Okert was recalled by the Giants on Tuesday, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The Giants shook up their bullpen Tuesday with a number of moves, including the promotion of Okert from Triple-A Sacramento. The 24-year-old left-hander has never pitched at the major league level, but he is coming off a decent 2015 campaign at Triple-A where he worked a 3.82 ERA with 69 strikeouts in 61.1 innings of work. He'll serve as another left-handed arm out of the Giants' bullpen, but he'll likely be used in lower-leverage situations for the time being.

Kontos (elbow) was officially placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday.

As expected, Kontos will hit the DL after he was diagnosed with a flexor strain in his throwing elbow earlier Tuesday. The 30-year-old, who's made eight appearances this season, has allowed one run on five hits through 5.2 innings. To beef up the bullpen in Kontos' absence, the team recalled both right-hander Mike Broadway and lefty Steven Okert from Triple-A Sacramento, while also optioning Chris Heston to Sacramento.

Bracho was recalled from Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.

Bracho opened up the season in the big leagues, but was quickly returned to the minors after allowing a home run in his only outing. The 23-year-old has been better at Triple-A, striking out six in four innings with a 2.25 ERA, but will likely occupy a lower-leverage spot in the bullpen for the time being. Archie Bradley was optioned to the minors is a corresponding move.

Wittgren was recalled from Triple-A New Orleans on Tuesday after Edwin Jackson was placed on the 15-day DL, Andre Fernandez of the Miami Herland reports.

Wittgren will join the Marlins' bullpen while Jackson is recovering. The 24-year-old posted a 3.38 ERA in 5.1 innings of work at Triple-A prior to being called up.

Coleman is off to a slow start with a 5.79 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in four appearances.

After making the team off an impressive spring, Coleman is still far from working his way into the later innings for the Dodgers.

Gearrin tossed a pair of shutout innings Monday, earning his first hold of the 2016 season.

Gearrin has been a revelation early on for the Giants. He has tossed seven shutout innings with a 3:1 K:BB. With Sergio Romo (elbow) out of action, Gearrin could be used in more high-pressure situations and see an uptick in holds.

Stephenson has been recalled from Triple-A Louisville and will get the start Tuesday against the Rockies.

Scheduled starter Alfredo Simon was scratched from his start earlier Tuesday due to right biceps tendinitis, so the Reds have opted to recall the 23-year-old Stephenson to make the spot start. Stephenson made one start earlier in the season, allowing three runs (including two home runs) over five innings. He'll have the tough task of facing an explosive Rockies lineup Tuesday. Given that Simon is expected to return to the rotation for his next scheduled start, this could be a relatively short stint for Stephenson.
