Castro (shoulder) was moved to the 15-day DL on Friday, the Denver Post reports.

The team does not believe Castro's injury is serious, and with a backdated DL stint, the 21-year-old will be eligible to return as soon as May 3. Jon Gray, Friday's starter against the Dodgers, was activated in a corresponding move. Castro was looking good before being shelved, and there's been speculation he could close some games toward the end of the season.

Edgin (elbow) struck out the lone batter he faced at High-A St. Lucie on Thursday and could soon move his rehab up a level.

Edgin is on a 30-day rehab assignment and has allowed one run on two hits and a walk while striking out five in 3.1 innings for St. Lucie. Look for him to move up the ladder to Double-A Binghamton and then Triple-A Las Vegas before his rehab assignment is over. Edgin could be ready to return to the majors around May 1 and a promotion could come at the expense of Rafael Montero, if Montero isn't demoted Friday to make room for Jacob deGrom.

Belisle pitched two scoreless innings in relief of a shaky Max Scherzer on Thursday, allowing no hits and walking one without a strikeout.

He's had a solid start to the season, posting a 1.80 ERA and 1.20 WHIP through his first five innings, but Belisle is buried in middle relief for the Nationals and his 2:1 K:BB doesn't suggest he'll be able to maintain those strong ratios. Barring injuries that push him into higher-leverage situations, Belisle is probably best left on the waiver wire.

Jansen worked a scoreless 10th inning against the Braves on Thursday for his seventh save of the season.

He allowed a player to reach scoring position, giving up a one-out double to Erick Aybar, but Jansen got Daniel Castro and Freddie Freeman to fly out to end the game. The 28-year-old is now 7-for-7 in save opportunities, with Thursday's save moving him ahead of Washington's Jonathan Papelbon for the National League lead. Jansen has not allowed a walk and has not needed more than 17 pitches to complete an inning this season.

Miller walked five batters in just two innings Thursday against the Giants, though he allowed only one hit and limited the damage to two runs.

After shaky, but passable work in the first two innings, Miller imploded in the third, walking four consecutive batters before he got the yank. He had no control at all in this one, and the reason is uncomplicated: his mechanics are totally out of whack right now. It's unclear whether the finger issue he was suffering from affected him in this one, but all things being equal, that seems like the least of his concerns. He's got too much upside to cut loose in most leagues, but fantasy owners would do well to stash Miller on their benches until he gets it together.

Johnson (arm) will come off the 7-day disabled list and start Thursday for Triple-A Iowa.

Johnson was deactivated for a week after being struck by a line drive in his April 11 start, but his setback did not turn into a long-term issue. With Johnson now at the Triple-A level and owning a 2.48 career minor league ERA, he will have a chance to make his big league debut at some point this season.

Miller (finger) will start Thursday's game against the Giants as previously scheduled.

He suffered a laceration in his last start Saturday against the Padres, which led to his departure after just 1.2 frames. According to the Arizona Republic, Miller sorted out his mechanical flaws during his bullpen session this week, and it should also be noted that his fastball velocity was closer to his pre-2016 levels before his early exit Saturday.

Although Melancon has registered three saves in six outings, he's pitched in only one game since April 11.

After starting the season with four wins, the Pirates have lost eight of 11 games, limiting Melancon's opportunities. The closer has looked strong when called upon, striking out five batters while giving up one run in 5.1 innings.

Coleman was placed on the bereavement list Thursday, Andy McCullough of the LA Times reports.

Coleman will miss a minimum of three games, ruling him out through Saturday's contest in Colorado, at the very least. Luis Avilan was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to take Coleman's spot at the back of the bullpen.

Lazo was reinstated from the DL and optioned to High-A Jupiter on Thursday, Joe Capozzi of the Palm Beach Post reports.

The nature of Lazo's injury remains unclear, but the Marlins will keep Lazo at the High-A level after he split last season between High-A and Double-A before a brief, seven-game cup of coffee with the Marlins. If the 27-year-old fares well, he could be in line for another call up later in the year.
