Over his last eight appearances spanning 9.1 innings, Robles has given up 13 of the 27 earned runs he has allowed in 60.1 total innings this season.

Robles was cruising until August 3, posting a 1.61 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in 28 innings over 21 games. However, since August 2 the wheels have fallen off as Robles has struggled with his command and control, leaving too many pitches in the heart of the plate while also walking 10 batters in 9.1 innings. He still is manager Terry Collins' main seventh-inning option, though he could lose that job to Jim Henderson, who recently returned from injury.

Nelson (7-13) allowed two runs on seven hits and struck out four over six innings in a win Monday over the Rockies.

Nelson broke a six-game losing streak with his first quality start since he threw seven shutout innings July 16 against the Reds. Perhaps the most encouraging thing about his performance was his control. For the first time all season, Nelson didn't walk a single batter, and he had walked an atrocious 17 batters in 28 innings (5.5 BB/9) over his six-start losing streak. Nelson had a 4.2 BB/9 entering Monday's start and will need to continue to show better control if he wants to improve his 4.26 ERA before season's end.

Chapman is presumably available out of the Cubs' bullpen Monday after resting the previous two days.

It was reported Saturday that Chapman would get that night and Sunday off after throwing four times -- including both ends of a doubleheader -- in the prior four days, and he was not summoned from the bullpen either day as expected. Chapman did say Saturday that he would be good to go for Monday's game, so with his rest period behind him, expect him to be used in a save situation if one arises in Monday's matchup with the Padres.

Estevez was recalled from Triple-A on Monday.

The Rockies placed right-hander Scott Oberg on the disabled list Monday, so Estevez will come up to assume the vacant roster spot. Estevez, who was just optioned to Triple-A on Friday, holds a 5.28 ERA and 1.33 WHIP across 44.1 major league innings on the season.

Gsellman is expected to be recalled by Mets, Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports.

While the move is not official, it looks as though the Mets will bring up the right-hander, and he'll likely take the roster spot of Steven Matz, who's expected to land on the DL with a shoulder strain. While Gsellman has worked exclusively as a starter in the minors, the plan is apparently for him to begin as a bullpen arm. The 23-year-old holds a 5.73 ERA across nine starts at Triple-A Las Vegas this season, up from the 2.71 ERA he posted in 11 starts for Double-A Binghamton.

Gsellman could start Thursday in place of the injured Steven Matz (shoulder), according to Betsy Helfand of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Gsellman was scratched from Monday's scheduled start with Triple-A Las Vegas, which at least makes him an option to fill the spot in the Mets' rotation that will open up when Matz is officially placed on the disabled list. Gsellman has not had much success since joining Las Vegas in June, posting a 5.73 ERA and 1.48 WHIP over nine starts.

Rodney walked one and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Sunday against the Pirates to notch his 24th save of the season.

A.J. Ramos worked a perfect eighth inning Sunday in his first action since coming off the DL, so this may end up being Rodney's last save opportunity for a while. The 39-year-old has been volatile since joining the Marlins, posting a 4.44 ERA and 26:15 K:BB in 24.1 innings, and he should return to setup duties once Ramos is reinstated as closer.

Nolin (elbow) had Tommy John surgery two weeks ago, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

With a career ERA and WHIP of 6.89 and 1.79, the Brewers had decided that they wanted to convert Nolin to a bullpen role. This could very well help improve the longevity of his elbow upon his activation from the DL. A timeframe for Nolin's return should become known when he gets farther into the rehab process.

Gomez notched his 33rd save in Saturday's 4-2 victory over the Cardinals, allowing only a hit in a scoreless ninth inning.

The closer bounced back nicely from blowing his fourth save of the season on Friday, allowing only a Jhonny Peralta single. Despite the hiccup in the opening game of the series, Gomez has mostly been on a roll lately, converting eight of his last nine save chances successfully.

Rodney notched his 23rd save in Saturday's 3-1 victory over the Pirates, firing a scoreless ninth inning in which he also struck out two.

The veteran closer keeps rolling along, now having successfully converted his last six save opportunities. Rodney also has scoreless outings in seven of his last eight appearances, and now sports a solid 2.25 ERA and 1.15 WHIP on the season.
