Ellington was optioned to Triple-A New Orleans on Sunday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

A.J. Ramos was brought off the DL on Sunday, so Ellington is headed back to New Orleans. Ellington was fantastic during his latest stint in the majors, as he allowed just one run over 8.1 innings spread across nine games, bringing his ERA down to 0.92 for the season. He's had a solid showing at the Triple-A level as well, posting a 3.13 ERA and 1.26 WHIP over 31.2 innings.

Neris allowed on hit and struck out three in a scoreless eighth inning Saturday to pick up his 26th hold of the season.

Neris has a win, seven holds, an 0.84 ERA and a 17:1 K:BB in 10.2 innings during the month of August. Neris' 26 holds are the fourth most in the majors this season.

Melancon allowed a hit but recorded one out to nail down a 11-9 barnburner against the Braves on Saturday.

He came into the game with a three-run cushion and two outs in the ninth, but runners were already on second and third. The first batter he faced singled, which brought the Braves within two, but Melancon induced a popup against the next batter to end the game. Melancon is 36-for-39 in save opportunities with a 1.41 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 48 strikeouts in 51.0 innings this season.

Moore (0-3) took the loss against the Mets on Saturday after giving up three runs on five hits while walking three and striking out three over five innings.

Moore continues to struggle with his new club, posting a 4.70 ERA and 1.48 WHIP through four starts. One of his biggest issues has been a lack of control, walking 17 batters in 23 innings with the Giants. Moore does have a 3.35 BB/9 on the year, and while that isn't a great mark, it is definitely better than walk rate he is posting in San Francisco. His next start against the Dodgers should be considered a risky play, but the upside in the matchup lies in Los Angeles' lefty-heavy lineup.

Chapman will not pitch Saturday or Sunday, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

Chapman was credited with a blown save Friday night, his fourth game in four nights -- two of those appearances came in a doubleheader Tuesday -- and he said the workload caught up with him. "I felt a bit tired [Friday] night," Chapman said. "I did not perform at 100 percent. Also, the game was long and I was throwing and preparing [in the bullpen] to come in, in case they scored a run, and that may have contributed to me feeling a little tired." Chapman added he'll be ready to go Monday after a couple of days off, and that he'll be 100 percent.

Suter has been told to prepare for relief duty, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Making his big-league debut Friday, Suter gave up four runs on seven hits (including two home runs) and three walks over 4.1 innings in a loss to the Mariners. The Brewers will keep him around rather than send him back to Colorado Springs but Suter will transition to a long-relief role, with the potential to make a couple spot starts over the season's final month. It's uncertain who will take his spot in the rotation.

Hoffman's contract was selected from Triple-A Albuquerque and he will start Saturday's game against the Cubs, MLB.com's Thomas Harding reports.

Hoffman offers the potential for three plus pitches down the road, and his fastball and curveball are already plus offerings, with his slider not far behind. He also features a fringe-average changeup to complete a four-pitch mix. The standard qualifications about Rockies starting pitchers still apply and Saturday's matchup is certainly not ideal, but Hoffman has the stuff to survive in any environment. He posted a 4.02 ERA, 1.36 ERA and 124:44 K:BB in 118.2 innings with Albuquerque, which is actually quite impressive for a 23-year-old pitcher in their first tour of the Pacific Coast League. Hoffman has a chance to stick in the Rockies' rotation over the rest of the season and he should not necessarily be judged harshly if he falls flat on his face against a deadly Cubs lineup Saturday.

Melancon allowed a hit and struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning Friday to notch his 35th save of the season in a 7-6 win over the Braves.

He's a perfect 5-for-5 in save chances since being traded to the Nats with a 1.00 ERA and 10:0 K:BB in nine innings. Melancon figures to get plenty more save opportunities down the stretch as Washington looks to lock up the NL East crown.

Adleman (2-1) fired five scoreless frames in Friday's 9-2 victory over the Dodgers, giving up five hits and two walks. He struck out three.

Just recalled from Triple-A, Adleman was solid while firing 57 of 88 pitches for strikes and helped his own cause with a two-run double in the fourth inning. The 28-year-old righty could be headed back to the minors, but given his stellar performance, may have a chance to stick in the rotation for the duration of the 2016 campaign.

Reyes notched his first major league save in Friday's 4-3 extra-inning victory over the Phillies, giving up a hit and a walk over a scoreless 11th inning. He also recorded a strikeout.

The rookie reliever has yet to give up a run over his first seven major league innings. He labored a bit through his one inning Friday, needing 21 pitches to lock down the victory for the Cardinals. Reyes has at least one strikeout in each of his four appearances and has already recorded nine whiffs overall during that span.
