Wittgren was optioned to Triple-A New Orleans after Thursday's 16-inning loss to the Mets, Andre C. Fernandez of The Miami Herald reports.

Wittgren had three strikeouts on 45 pitches while retiring all nine batters he faced in the 13th, 14th and 15th innings of Thursday's marathon. He's partially a victim of his own success, as the length of Thursday's contest will force Miami to call up an extra arm from the minors, but he's also the only pitcher in their bullpen with minor-league options remaining. Wittgren did allow two earned runs over 3.2 innings prior to Thursday, but he'll likely return to the majors at some point in the coming weeks.

Rusin threw 3.1 innings in relief of Jon Gray (toe) on Thursday to get the win in a 3-1 victory over the Giants, allowing one run on two hits while striking out two.

The 30-year-old lefty has looked good in long relief to begin the season, posting a 1.69 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 4:0 K:BB through 5.1 innings over two appearances. If Gray's latest toe issue costs him any starts Rusin could be an option to fill in, but more likely the Rockies will keep him in his current role and have him provide support for whichever younger pitcher gets the next audition in their rotation.

Nelson (1-0) gave up only one run on five hits while striking out five over seven innings in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Reds.

After fanning eight in a tough no-decision against the Cubs in his first start of the season, Nelson got plenty of run support this time around. The 27-year-old took control of the game after Billy Hamilton manufactured a run in the first inning with his wheels, throwing 73 of 101 pitches for strikes, and Nelson now has a 1.38 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 13:2 K:BB through 13 innings. He'll look to keep things rolling Tuesday in Chicago in a rematch with the world champions.

Gsellman (0-1) was tagged for eight runs on five hits and three walks while striking out five over 4.2 innings but was able to escape with a no-decision in Thursday's extra-inning win over the Marlins.

The 23-year-old served up a grand slam to Marcell Ozuna in the first inning but then watched as the Mets' offense clawed back and handed him a lead, only for Gsellman to walk Christian Yelich with the bases loaded as part of a four-run fifth that ended his night. Through his first 10.2 innings this season Gsellman does have 13 strikeouts, but too many walks and untimely homers have left him with a 9.28 ERA and 1.69 WHIP. He'll try to get things straightened out Wednesday at home against the Phillies.

Sewald was optioned down to Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday, James Wagner of The New York Times reports.

Sewald was the roster casualty with the activation of Juan Lagares from the 10-day disabled list. He appeared in two games during his brief stint in the big leagues, allowing two runs on four hits while walking one across 1.1 innings. He'll continue to offer organizational depth in the bullpen.

Bowman earned his second hold of the season in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Nationals, recording one out in the eighth inning.

Bowman was brought on to help put out the fire started by Trevor Rosenthal, who'd allowed three straight singles with one out. The 25-year-old induced a fielder's choice groundout from Anthony Rendon for his one out before being replaced by Brett Cecil. The young right-hander has been impressive over his first five appearances thus far in 2017, having yet to allow a run in four innings and surrendering just two hits.

Hader has a 3.38 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 6:7 K:BB through eight innings (two starts) for Triple-A Colorado Springs.

He has done a solid job at preventing runs, but he has almost as many walks as innings pitched and failed to strike out a batter over three innings in his second start of the year. The Brewers don't have an opening in the big-league rotation, and Hader isn't forcing the issue, so he is not on the cusp of a call-up.

Vizcaino struck out two in a perfect eighth inning Tuesday to get credit for the win in a 5-4 victory over the Marlins.

Remarkably, the strikeouts were his first of the year in four appearances, but otherwise Vizcaino has looked sharp so far in 2017 and has yet to allow a run. Should the Braves' closer spot open up at some point, the 26-year-old would likely get yet another chance at ninth-inning duty after recording 19 saves over the last two seasons.

Jansen gave up a hit in a scoreless ninth inning to collect his second save of the season in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Cubs.

While his 5.40 ERA through 3.1 innings still bears the scars of last weekend's visit to Coors Field, Jansen is otherwise off to a typical start to the season with a 3:0 K:BB. Given his overpowering stuff and a team around him that should provide him with plenty of leads to protect, the 29-year-old remains in the conversation as the most valuable fantasy closer around.

Miller (1-1) gave up three runs on seven hits and two walks across 5.1 innings of work en route to his first loss of the season Wednesday. He also struck out five.

The right-hander was dominant for the first four innings of the game, but things fell apart after opposing starter Matt Cain drilled a one-out double to spark a three-run fifth inning for San Francisco. Miller displayed solid accuracy (60 out of his 101 pitches went for strikes) and showed flashes of what made him such an appealing trade target a while back, but he ultimately faltered and was unable to get Arizona into the win column. Miller's next opportunity to right the ship will come Tuesday against the Padres.
