Montero tossed three perfect innings Thursday, striking out three, in an 8-3 loss to the Nationals.

It was a nice return to the majors for the right-hander, who gave up five runs in 6.2 innings over his last three appearances prior to his demotion at the end of May. Montero carries an ugly 7.15 ERA and 2.21 WHIP with the Mets but could still be in line for a spot start early next week, although at the moment Tyler Pill seems to be the favorite for the assignment.

Moore allowed eight runs on 11 hits and two walks while striking out seven batters through just three innings during Thursday's loss to Colorado. He didn't factor into the decision.

Considering Moore's road struggles, turning to him at Coors Field was a risky proposition, but at least the seven strikeouts soften the ratio blow. The lefty owns a solid 3.07 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 7.2 K/9 at AT&T Park, but Moore has been hammered on the road to the tune of a 9.24 ERA and 2.11 WHIP. At some point his drastic home-road splits should stabilize, but it's currently a pretty convincing trend. Moore lines up to face the Braves at SunTrust Park in his next start Tuesday.

Hoffman allowed one run on seven hits and three walks while striking out just a single batter during Thursday's win over the Giants. He didn't factor into the decision.

Any time you can position yourself for a win and allow a single run at Coors Field, it's a strong outing. Unfortunately, the Colorado bullpen surrendered eight runs to rob Hoffman of his fifth win. He's been solid through six starts this season with a 2.25 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 10.1 K/9. The 24-year-old righty owns a target-worthy pedigree, too. Hoffman will look to stay hot in a daunting road matchup against the Diamondbacks at Chase Field in his next start.

Torres (3-4) pitched a scoreless eighth inning and was the pitcher of record when Milwaukee pulled ahead in the ninth frame of Thursday's win over St. Louis.

Torres continues to benefit from his high-leverage role, but he probably doesn't deserve it or have the skill set to be pitching in one. He sports an underwhelming 4.58 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 6.9 K/9, and the veteran has also been tagged with four losses and three blown saves already this season.

Moore was hammered to the tune of eight runs on 11 hits over three innings Thursday. He walked two and struck out seven in a 10-9 loss to the Rockies.

Moore continues to struggle in the month of June, surrendering 16 earned runs over 12 innings while bringing his season ERA up to an even 6.00 through 14 starts. The veteran southpaw has experienced a bit of bad luck, allowing a .349 BABIP coupled with a career-low 64.9 percent strand rate, but a 4.80 FIP tells us that he hasn't been doing much to help his case on the mound even if things were breaking his way. At this point, the only positive thing that can be said about Moore's season is that he has done a good job of pitching in cavernous AT&T Park (3.07 ERA at home), but his inability to sustain success on the road (9.24 ERA) greatly diminishes his fantasy value.

Gsellman (5-4) allowed seven runs on 11 hits and two walks while striking out just three batters over five innings during Thursday's loss to Washington.

After spinning one of his best starts of the season last time out, this was a discouraging follow-up from Gsellman, and especially with the Mets trying to chase down the Nationals in the National League East. His 5.50 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 6.7 K/9 aren't target-worthy fantasy marks, and his next start projects to be at Dodger Stadium against Los Angeles. Don't fret ignoring Gsellman at this stage of the game.

Neris pitched a scoreless ninth inning with two strikeouts during Thursday's win over Boston.

This was Neris' first save since June 4, and manager Pete Mackanin suggested last week that Neris might not be the only ninth-inning option for the Phillies. However, this was certainly an encouraging sign for fantasy owners. Still, Neris' mediocre 3.49 ERA and 1.31 WHIP aren't exactly go-to numbers, and he's also allowed three runs through four innings over his past five appearances. Keeping an eye on Mackanin's bullpen usage going forward is advised.

Pivetta pitched seven scoreless innings with nine strikeouts during Thursday's win over Boston. He didn't factor into the decision and allowed just four hits and two walks.

This way the best start of the campaign by a significant margin for the rookie, and especially considering Boston boasts an admirable offense. It's the first time Pivetta has pitched into the sixth inning of a game, and the outing improved him to a 4.46 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 8.9 K/9. He posted a 1.91 ERA through 10 career starts at the Triple-A level, so he owns potential, but it's probably wise to wait for another strong showing or two before dropping a serviceable asset for Pivetta in most fantasy settings. He lines up to face the Cardinals at Citizens Bank Park in his next start.

Montero is an option to make a spot start Monday against the Dodgers, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

With Matt Harvey (shoulder) expected to miss several weeks with his latest injury, Montero could step in to take his next turn in the rotation before the Mets move back to a five-man rotation. The 26-year-old struggled through a pair of spot starts earlier in the season -- allowing eight runs on 12 hits and six walks while striking out eight through just 6.2 innings -- so the Mets may be leaning towards sending out Tyler Pill for the spot start.

Gott was sent back to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday, Jorge Castillo of The Washington Post reports.

Gott will head back to Syracuse after allowing five runs on five hits and two walks over 1.2 innings during Wednesday's 13-2 loss to the Braves. The 24-year-old should continue to ride the shuttle between the majors and minors whenever the Nationals need bullpen help.
