Estevez was returned to Triple-A Albuquerque following Sunday's doubleheader with the Nationals.

The Rockies brought Estevez in from the minor-league ranks to serve as their 26th man in the twin bill, but the right-handed bullpen arm ended up going unused. He'll continue serving as organizational relief depth now that he's back in Triple-A, where he's provided solid work this season, turning in a 1.78 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 25.1 innings.

Hernandez was traded to the Diamondbacks on Monday in exchange for minor-league pitcher Luis Madero, Buster Olney of ESPN reports.

The veteran reliever has put together a career year with the Angels this season, producing a 2.23 ERA and a 37:8 K:BB in 36.1 innings pitched. Hernandez should see plenty of high-leverage innings in his new home, although save opportunities may be hard to come by with Fernando Rodney and Archie Bradley likely ahead of him in the pecking order for ninth-inning duties.

Bowman notched his 19th hold in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Diamondbacks, getting one out to close out the seventh inning.

Bowman drew the tough assignment of facing Paul Goldschmidt with a man on second and two out, but he was eventually able to elicit an inning-ending groundout from the All-Star first baseman after eight pitches. Suddenly one of the Cardinals' most crucial bullpen arms, Bowman has strung together three straight scoreless efforts after being charged with back-to-back blown saves July 22 and 25. The two runs he surrendered in those appearances are the only ones on his ledger in July, a month during which he's generated a 2.00 ERA across nine frames.

The Red Sox traded Callahan, Stephen Nogosek and Gerson Bautista to the Mets for Addison Reed on Monday, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

Callahan held a 4.03 ERA with four saves and a nice 11.2 K/9 (albeit with a 4.0 BB/9) across 22 games for Triple-A Pawtucket. The right-hander is the closest of the three prospects to the majors, and he could conceivably get called up at some point this season. Expect him to report to the Mets' affiliate in Las Vegas once the trade is made official.

The Cubs designated Floro for assignment Monday, Bruce Miles of the Chicago Daily Herald reports.

By dropping Floro from the 40-man roster and trading Jeimer Candelerio to the Tigers, the Cubs will be able to open up spots for Justin Wilson and Alex Avila, who were acquired from Detroit late Sunday. Floro had worked as a long man out of the bullpen for the Cubs in his three prior appearances at the big-league level this season, surrendering seven runs on 15 hits and two walks over 9.2 innings. If he goes unclaimed off waivers, Floro will likely stick around in the Cubs' organization and report to Triple-A Iowa.

Wilson has been traded to the Cubs along with catcher Alex Avila for Jeimer Candelario, Isaac Paredes, and either a player to be named later or cash, Lynn Henning of The Detroit News reports.

Wilson goes to a team that won't use him as a closer, at least not for this year. But the Cubs still can give him plenty of high-leverage outings and have him potentially close in 2018 and beyond. As for the Tigers, this may leave a gap for save chances that could be filled by Shane Greene, Bruce Rondon or Joe Jimenez.

Neris (4-4) pitched a scoreless ninth inning to collect the win during Sunday's victory over Atlanta.

The Phillies scored in the bottom of the ninth to provide Neris with his fourth win of the season, and the righty also has collected nine saves. Neris is locked into a high-leverage role, which should continue to provide him with opportunities to chip in the odd win and save. He also sports a serviceable 3.00 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 9.8 K/9 for the campaign.

Manager Brian Snitker said that Vizcaino would have been used for a save situation Sunday, Kevin McAlpin of 680 The Fan reports.

Despite the exciting news, Kevin McAlpin of 680 The Fan also reports that the Braves intend to "mix and match" ninth-inning opportunities in the coming days, so it doesn't seem like Vizcaino is the lone closer for Atlanta. That being said, Jim Johnson was used in the eighth inning of Sunday's contest while Vizcaino was available out of the bullpen, so it could make for a changing of the guard. The 26-year-old's performance certainly warrants a promotion, as he holds a 2.63 ERA and a 9.8 K/9 on the season.

Ortiz was scratched from his start with Double-A Biloxi due to a fever, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Ortiz had been red hot as of late, so it's a shame to see him have to miss a start now. However, it doesn't appear to be something that should keep him out very long, so he should just be considered day-to-day for the time being.

Edgin was designated for assignment by the Mets on Sunday.

The Mets needed to make room on the 40-man roster for recent acquisition A.J. Ramos and ultimately decided to designate Edgin for assignment. It was a bit of a surprising move, as Edgin held a respectable 3.65 ERA over 37 innings of relief this season. He'll more than likely be claimed by another big-league club.
