Wilson recorded a blown save, his first with the Cubs, in Thursday's loss to the Diamondbacks. He allowed two inherited runners to score in an inning of work.

Wilson wasn't tagged with any earned runs, but he wasn't overly effective in this one. After Carl Edwards walked the first two batters of the inning, Wilson was summoned to face Brandon Drury, who promptly singled to load the bases. Jake Lamb followed with another single to score two runs. Wilson was able to escape without further damage, however. He hasn't been great so far with his new team, as he allowed a run on two walks and a hit in his debut Wednesday, and the Cubs are hoping for better results moving forward.

Blach (7-7) allowed two runs on six hits and a walk while striking out four over eight innings in Thursday's 11-2 win over the Athletics.

The Giants' offense afforded Blach a 7-0 lead after the first two innings and the southpaw took it from there. Though his ERA sits at a pedestrian 4.24 on the year, Blach has now compiled five quality starts in his previous six outings. The 26-year-old has been a consistent, reliable innings eater for the Giants all season and will look to replicate Thursday's impressive outing in his upcoming scheduled start against the Cubs on Tuesday.

Rodney pitched around two walks by striking out the side in a scoreless ninth inning to collect his 24th save of the season during Thursday's win over the Cubs.

While there have been a few implosions, and Rodney's 4.79 ERA is an eyesore, the veteran continues to pad the saves column. He's now fired six consecutive scoreless appearances and collected a win and three saves during that stretch, so Rodney remains a serviceable fantasy asset in all settings.

Banda will be recalled rom Triple-A Reno and start Friday's game against the Giants.

The Diamondbacks are in need of a spot starter for Friday's series opener against the Giants as Robbie Ray remains on the 7-day disabled list with concussion symptoms. The N.L. Wild Card leaders will give the ball to Banda, who has already made a start with the big-league club this season, allowing four runs over 5.2 innings against the Nationals on July 22. The 23-year-old will face a much less threatening opponent this time around as the Giants' offense ranks dead last in the league in total home runs and team OPS.

Robles was experiencing right hand numbness during the ninth inning in Thursday's loss to the Rockies, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.

The reliever was also dealing with cramping in his midsection during the eighth inning, but he stayed in the game and ultimately got out of that inning unscathed. However, the hand numbness makes a lot of sense given his multi-walk ninth inning and errant 3-2 pitch to hand Colorado the victory. The severity of this issue is unknown, so it's unclear if he'll wind up missing any time due to this or not. Consider Robles day-to-day for now.

Montero allowed four runs on 10 hits and a walk while striking out six batters through 5.2 innings during Thursday's loss to Colorado. He didn't factor into the decision.

Considering the game was at hitter-friendly Coors Field, this was a respectable outing from Montero. However, he's also now allowed 21 runs through 31.1 innings over his past six appearances. Those numbers aren't serviceable in the majority of fantasy settings, but with the Mets' pitching staff riddled with injuries, the 26-year-old righty should remain in the rotation for the foreseeable future. His 9.1 K/9 for the campaign is also intriguing, so he's definitely an arm to keep tabs on. Montero lines up to face the Rangers at Citi Field in his next start.

Stewart was sent down to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday.

Stewart will head back to Oklahoma City while the big-league club activated Tony Cingrani following his arrival via Cincinnati on Monday. During eight appearances with the Dodgers this season, Stewart accumulated a 0.87 ERA and 0.97 WHIP over the course of 20.2 innings. The 25-year-old has done a solid job during a few spot starts, but will likely return to the fold in the coming weeks in a long-relief role.

Brebbia recorded his second hold in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Brewers despite giving up two earned runs on two hits over two-thirds of an inning. He also recorded a strikeout.

The young reliever gave up some hard contact, allowing a double to Ryan Braun to open the eighth before getting touched up by Jesus Aguilar for a two-run blast that closed the Brewers' deficit to one run. Brebbia hadn't surrendered an earned run since June 17, so Wednesday's stumble could certainly be labeled as more or less of an outlier. His impressive 2.00 ERA and 0.81 WHIP certainly give him some value in NL-only and deep formats, but he doesn't offer much strikeout upside and hasn't seen many hold opportunities to date.

Banda appears to be the leading candidate to receive a promotion from the minors to start Friday's game against the Giants, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Robbie Ray (concussion), who was placed on the 7-day disabled list last weekend after taking a liner to the head during his last start July 28, has resumed working out and has seen his symptoms subside, but he won't be cleared to take the mound until at least next week. As a result, the Diamondbacks will need a temporary replacement in the rotation, and Banda, who performed adequately in a July 22 spot start, represents the most logical fill-in option. Since he hasn't pitched at Triple-A Reno since July 27, he'll be sufficiently rested for Friday, giving him an advantage over most of the other spot starters the Diamondbacks might have been considering.

Rodney struck out two batters in a scoreless ninth inning against the Cubs on Wednesday to earn his 23rd save of the season.

Rodney has now compiled a 1.82 ERA, 29 strikeouts and 17 saves over his last 24.2 innings dating back to the beginning of May. The 40-year-old continues to lower his 4.93 ERA, while his ability to strike batters out coupled with the fact that he's pitching for a contending team make him an attractive fantasy closer as we head into the final two months of the regular season.
