Hoover has been outrighted to Triple-A Colorado Springs, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Hoover passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment Wednesday following his disastrous relief appearance against the Cardinals. He'll serve as bullpen depth with Colorado Springs moving forward.

Sims was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday.

Sims will join the big-league bullpen after the team designated Luke Jackson for assignment Sunday. Sims -- who posted a 5.62 ERA over 57.2 innings with the Braves last season -- will likely be used in a long-relief role for the time being.

Jackson had his contract selected by the Braves a week into the regular season but will now be cast off the 40-man roster following his ugly performance in which he allowed two runs while only recording one out during Saturday's game against the Cubs. Lucas Sims was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett in his place.

Hand pitched 1.1 innings and struck out each batter he faced to earn his sixth save of the season Saturday against the Giants.

After a few odd outings to begin the season in which he yielded six unearned runs, Hand has been solid. Saturday's performance was the highlight to this point, as he needed only 19 pitches to strike out four Giants batters and secure the victory. He is locked in as the Padres' closer and has 14 strikeouts in nine innings pitched, making him an attractive option for saves.

Richards allowed two hits while walking one and striking out two across seven scoreless innings Saturday against the Pirates. He did not factor into the decision.

Richards allowed a lot of contact but benefited from pitching in his big home park against the Pirates, a team with limited power in its lineup. This was the first time he pitched past the fifth inning, and he has struck out just nine batters through 15.1 innings this season. He may be out of the rotation soon with the return of Dan Straily (forearm), but even if he takes his next turn he is difficult to trust as a fantasy option.

Hader struck out five over two perfect innings to pick up his first career save in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Mets.

At least for one night, the Brewers gave up trying to find an alternate closing option and simply let Hader loose, and the left-hander needed only 23 pitches -- 18 of them strikes -- to lock down the win. His usage will likely remain unconventional, but expect the club's best reliever to start seeing more work in the ninth inning, as there's simply no arguing with Hader's uncanny 22:3 K:BB through 9.2 innings.

Chargois gave up a solo home run while striking out two over one inning in Friday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

The homer was the first run charged to the right-hander this season. It's a small sample size, but Chargois has been strong with his new club, striking out five over 4.2 innings while issuing just one walk (control was an issue during his time with Twins). The 27-year-old offers a mid-90s sinker with big bite, a slider, and a circle change that breaks just like his sinker. Chargois will occupy a middle-relief role for the time being, but if injuries open up a higher-leverage spot in the bullpen at some point this year, he could be a logical fill-in for manager Dave Roberts.

Lamet (elbow) was moved to the 60-day disabled list Saturday, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Lamet is out for the entirety of the 2018 season after electing to undergo Tommy John surgery. He was moved to the 60-day DL in order to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Tyler Webb, who was claimed off waivers from Milwaukee. Assuming a typical recovery timeline, Lamet will be able to return midway through the 2019 season.

Webb was claimed off waivers by the Padres on Saturday.

Webb reached the majors for the first time last season, posting a 5.63 ERA in eight innings. In parts of four seasons at the Triple-A level, the 27-year-old has a 3.69 ERA with a 10.6 K/9 and a 2.5 BB/9. He'll head to Triple-A El Paso but has a decent chance of getting called up to a low-leverage role in the Padres' bullpen at some point this season.

Leone grabbed his second hold in a 5-3 win over the Reds on Friday by getting one out on a pickoff at first base.

Leone threw a scant three pitches to Devin Mesoraco while garnering his second hold of the season, and ultimately he didn't even have to retire him to get his one out. The right-hander instead picked off inherited runner Joey Votto at first base, closing out the frame and preserving the Cardinals' 5-3 lead. The 26-year-old has had a couple of rocky outings thus far, but he's now generated scoreless efforts in four of his last five trips to the mound.
