  • Shelby Miller RP | CHC

Diamondbacks' Shelby Miller: Leaves with elbow tightness

Miller left Wednesday's game against the Rockies with right elbow tightness.

It's quite the worrisome development for a pitcher who only recently returned from Tommy John surgery, as "elbow tightness" is sometimes the original diagnosis which precedes a serious injury. Miller certainly didn't look good on the mound, allowing five runs in just one inning. The severity of the injury should become clear in the next few days.

  • Bryan Shaw RP | CIN

Rockies' Bryan Shaw: Activated from DL

Shaw (calf) was reinstated from the 10-day disabled list Wednesday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Shaw will be available out of the bullpen against the Diamondbacks after appearing in a pair of rehab outings with Triple-A Albuquerque in recent days. In a corresponding move, the Rockies optioned Jerry Vasto back to the minors.

  • Edward Paredes RP | PHI

Dodgers' Edward Paredes: Designated for assignment

Paredes was designated for assignment by the Dodgers on Wednesday, J.P. Hoornstra of the Southern California News Group reports.

Paredes appeared in 15 games for Los Angeles this season, posting a 5.87 ERA and 1.17 WHIP over 7.2 innings of relief. He was cast off the 40-man roster in order to make room for Zac Rosscup, who was claimed off waivers by the Dodgers on Wednesday. Paredes will be subject to waivers, and will likely remain with Triple-A Oklahoma City if unclaimed by another organization.

  • Reds' Raisel Iglesias: Records 19th save with scoreless inning

Iglesias worked around a hit with two strikeouts in a scoreless inning of work for his 19th save of the season Tuesday against the Indians.

Iglesias allowed the leadoff man to reach in this one, but he mowed down the next three batters he faced to close out a three-run victory. He threw 12 of 13 pitches for strikes in this dominant outing and has responded with three straight saves after blowing an opportunity last week. Iglesias now holds a 2.41 ERA and 1.05 WHIP for the season.

  • Kyle Crockett RP | CIN

Reds' Kyle Crockett: Nabs first 2018 win

Crockett got the win Tuesday night following the Reds' incredible ninth-inning rally against the Indians, after recording the final two outs of the eighth inning.

Crockett was facing his former team, filling in the same role that he had with them as a lefty specialist. He has appeared in 10 games with the Reds, pitching 4.1 innings.

  • Brent Suter RP | ATL

Brewers' Brent Suter: Could return this weekend

Suter (forearm) could return as early as this weekend in Pittsburgh, the Associated Press reports.

When Suter was placed on the disabled list last week, he downplayed the forearm tightness as a minor issue, so perhaps he could return still in the first half. If he does, it would likely come in Saturday's doubleheader in Pittsburgh. If not, Aaron Wilkerson would probably get another turn.

  • Phillies' Enyel De Los Santos: Returns to Triple-A following Tuesday's start

De Los Santos was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley following Tuesday's win over the Mets.

De Los Santos earned the win Tuesday by allowing three runs on five hits over 6.1 innings -- he struck out six and walked three -- but will nonetheless return to the IronPigs with Vince Velasquez (forearm) poised to come off the disabled list Wednesday. De Los Santas performed well in his big-league debut, and may have earned himself another look when the Phillies are in need of a replacement starter during the second half of the season.

  • Edward Paredes RP | PHI

Dodgers' Edward Paredes: Sent back to Triple-A

Paredes was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old has made 15 appearances for the Dodgers so far this season, struggling to a 5.87 ERA. Kenta Maeda was activated from the paternity list in a corresponding move.

  • Hoby Milner RP | CHC

Phillies' Hoby Milner: Designated for assignment

Milner was designated for assignment by the Phillies on Tuesday.

Milner has allowed four runs in 4.2 innings with the Phillies this season, but posted a 2.01 ERA in 31.1 innings last year and has a 2.39 ERA in 26.1 innings at the Triple-A level in 2018. That track record combined with his left-handedness could be enough for Milner to get claimed on waivers, though he's 27 and doesn't have a good deal of major-league experience. Enyel De Los Santos' contract was selected in a corresponding move.

  • Paul Sewald RP | TOR

Mets' Paul Sewald: Headed back to Triple-A

Sewald was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Sewald was up for just four days, allowing two runs in two innings. He'll make way for Drew Gagnon, who was called up to make his major-league debut against the Phillies.
