Santana was optioned to the minors on Monday, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Santana allowed five runs in 3.2 innings in his first taste of the big leagues last season but was shut down for the season in mid-June shortly after his first appearance. He has just 11 innings under his belt at the Triple-A level, so he'll remain there until another opportunity opens up.

Webb is day-to-day with a bruised hand, Gabe Burns of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Webb was struck by a line drive Sunday against the Marlins and appeared to be in significant pain. Luckily for him, he seems to have avoided a fracture, so his absence is unlikely to be a particularly long one.

De Los Santos was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday, Meghan Montemurro of The Athletic reports.

De Los Santos could be called upon for a fair number of starts should injuries strike the Phillies' rotation, but he was never in serious consideration for an Opening Day job. He'll return to Triple-A to await his chance.

Diplan was optioned to minor-league camp.

This was an inevitable move, as Diplan still has plenty to work on in the minors. Given the fact that Diplan is already on the 40-man roster and has not had success as a starter in the upper levels, it would not be surprising to see him converted to the bullpen this year at Double-A or Triple-A.

Lawrence was optioned to Double-A Hartford on Monday.

Lawrence got to spend the start of camp on the major-league side as a member of the 40-man roster. He'll open the regular season with a new challenge after posting a strong 2.65 ERA in 54.1 innings for High-A Lancaster last year.

Smith will undergo Tommy John surgery Tuesday, Matt Ehalt of The Bergen Record reports.

Smith was evaluated Sunday for what was initially diagnosed as elbow soreness, and the news apparently wasn't good. The timing of the procedure means that Smith will work towards returning sometime in the middle of the 2020 season.

Coonrod was optioned to the minors Monday.

Coonrod opened camp on the big-league side as a member of the 40-man roster but was never likely to stick around long. He threw just 11.2 rehab innings last season while recovering from Tommy John surgery and has yet to pitch above the Double-A level.

Hernandez (shoulder) gave up one hit and struck out one in a scoreless inning Sunday against Arizona.

Hernandez had been nursing some shoulder soreness since the beginning of camp, but he finally felt good enough to see some game action. With plenty of time remaining before Opening Day, the 33-year-old right-hander should be good to go when the regular season kicks off.

Suarez completed four innings Sunday, giving up two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out two in a spring loss to the Athletics.

Suarez has gotten off to a bumpy start this spring, giving up six runs (one home run) on 11 hits over nine innings. The 26-year-old does have eight strikeouts over that span, so his ability to punch out batters seems to have carried over from his rookie year (7.3 K/9). Despite his up-and-down results in 2018, Suarez is one of several options being considered for the Giants' final rotation spot.

Sborz was optioned to the minor leagues Sunday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Sborz is on track to begin the 2019 campaign at Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he posted a 4.38 ERA with a 47:15 K:BB over 37 innings a season ago. He's yet to emerge in the major leagues, although he'll be a candidate to come up to the big-league club in the event of an injury.
