Smith recorded the save Monday against the Dodgers, working around a hit to fire a scoreless ninth inning and close out the Giants' 3-2 victory. He struck out two and walked none.

Smith allowed a bloop single to Austin Barnes, but punched out two hitters to protect the one-run lead and lock down his seventh save in as many opportunities. It was a nice bounceback effort from the left-hander, who was tagged for three earned in one inning in a non-save situation his last time out. He now has a 3.38 ERA, a 1.13 WHIP and 12 strikeouts in 10.2 innings on the season.

Diaz (0-1) took the loss Monday as the Mets fell 5-4 to the Reds, giving up a solo home run in one inning of relief.

Skipper Mickey Callaway said earlier in the month that managing Diaz's workload was a priority and gave certain scenarios in which he wouldn't be used, but somehow pitching three straight days didn't make the list. With the score tied in the ninth inning, Jesse Winker crushed the first pitch he saw from the Mets closer 415 feet to right field -- the first hit Diaz has given up to a left-handed hitter this season. Despite the hiccup, the former Mariner still boasts a 1.54 ERA and 20:2 K:BB through 11.2 innings, and he's converted all eight of his save chances through 13 appearances. Expect Diaz to be unavailable Tuesday, and Callaway might think twice about using him in Wednesday's game as well.

Iglesias (1-3) picked up the win in Monday's 5-4 victory over the Mets, giving up one hit and one walk over two scoreless innings of relief while striking out four.

Entering a 4-4 tie in the eighth inning, Iglesias shut down New York's bats and got rewarded for his efforts when Jesse Winker took Edwin Diaz deep in the top of the ninth. The Reds closer now sports a 3.14 ERA and 23:7 K:BB through 14.1 innings with a win, six saves and a hold in 12 appearances.

Hicks struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Monday to record his ninth save of the season in a 6-3 win over the Nationals.

After blowing his first save opportunity of the year March 31, Hicks has been all but flawless in April, posting a 0.79 ERA and 14:5 K:BB through 11.1 innings while converting nine straight chances. The flamethrower has improved his strikeout and walks rates from last season, and Hicks seems close to joining the ranks of the elite ninth-inning fantasy options.

Webb struck out one and retired the only two batters he faced to record his first save in a 3-1 win over the Padres on Monday.

After picking up his first win in his last appearance, Webb recorded the first save of his major-league career. The right-hander breezed through 0.2 innings, forcing a groundout and a strikeout to end the game. Luke Jackson and A.J. Minter were unavailable, but Webb could have a chance to earn more opportunities if he keeps producing. The right-hander hasn't allowed a run through six appearances this season.

Beede will likely be recalled from Triple-A to start Friday's game against the Dodgers, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

The Giants called Ty Blach up from Triple-A Sacramento after Derek Holland (finger) was placed on the 10-day injured list, but it looks as though Beede is the favorite to make a spot start in Holland's absence. Beede owns a 1.99 ERA with a 34:10 K:BB over 22.2 innings with the River Cats in 2019.

Blach was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Blach was promoted to the major leagues after Derek Holland (finger) was moved to the 10-day injured list. Blach made 13 starts in 2018 for San Francisco and posted a 4.25 ERA with 75 strikeouts over 118.2 innings, though it's unclear if he'll be used as a starter or a reliever during his time in the big leagues.

Rusin (back) is scheduled to throw live batting practice Tuesday, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports.

Rusin was placed on the injured list at the end of March with a back issue, and though his progress has been slow to this point, he's finally ready to face live hitters. He's slated to throw two separate BP sessions this week, and assuming all goes well, he'll be given the green light to embark on a rehab stint.

Wilson (elbow) threw off a mound Monday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Monday's session apparently went off without a hitch and marked Wilson's first time throwing off a mound since landing on the injured list last week. While it doesn't sound like the southpaw will be ready to return when first eligible Tuesday, he could be activated later in the week.

Pivetta struck out 14 over six innings for Triple-A Lehigh Valley in its 6-5 win Sunday over Buffalo. He gave up one run on three hits and three walks in the 101-pitch outing.

Pivetta has racked up 23 punchouts through his first two starts at Triple-A, but it's probably too early to say that he's solved the command and control problems that plagued him prior to being demoted to the minors. He kept the ball in the yard Sunday but allowed a home run in his previous turn with Lehigh Valley and has also issued three walks in both of those turns. Moreover, with back-end starters Zach Eflin, Vince Velasquez and Jerad Eickhoff all pitching well at the moment for the Phillies, there's no real impetus for the organization to rush Pivetta back to the big leagues.
