Beede was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Beede gave up eight runs over 2.1 innings during Friday's spot start but won't be needed for another turn through the rotation with Derek Holland (finger) set to spend the minimum on the injured list. The 25-year-old will hope to pick up where he left off at Sacramento, where he posted a 1.99 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 34:10 K:BB across 22.2 innings.

Hader picked up the save against the Mets on Friday, striking out five and walking one while allowing one hit over two innings to preserve a 3-1 victory for the Brewers.

The flame-throwing lefty allowed a couple of baserunners, but he punched out five hitters to record the two-inning save for his eighth of the season in nine opportunities. His 3.24 ERA is higher than the 2.43 mark he posted in his dominant campaign last season, but Hader is still striking out batters at an elite clip with a 36:5 K:BB, and he's also sporting an excellent 0.78 WHIP over 16.2 innings.

Jansen struck out the side against the Padres on Friday en route to his 11th save of the season.

The 11 saves are good for third in Major League Baseball, behind only Kirby Yates' 14 and Shane Greene's 13. Jansen had a bit of a rocky stretch recently in which he allowed three homers in four appearances, but he's settled down with three straight scoreless innings and only one hit allowed during that span.

Neris picked up his fifth save of the season Friday against the Nationals, allowing one hit while striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning.

Neris worked around a two-out single to remain a perfect 5-for-5 on save chances this season. The right-hander now owns a 2.45 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 22:3 K:BB through 14.2 innings this season and looks to be the Phillies' top ninth-inning option.

Smith pitched a perfect inning against the Reds on Friday to earn his eighth save of the season. He struck out two.

The lefty retired the side in order on 10 pitches after the Giants rallied back from eight runs down to take the lead in the top of the 11th inning. Smith has been great, posting a 2.84 ERA and 1.03 WHIP while going 8-for-8 in save situations. If he keeps this up, Smith will be a fairly hot commodity at the trade deadline.

Beede allowed eight runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three over 2.1 innings in a no-decision against the Reds on Friday.

The right-hander had been on an impressive run at Triple-A Sacramento but could not carry that momentum in his first major-league start of 2019 (third career). While he looked decent at times -- Beede was sitting mid-90s with his fastball early on and induced quite a few empty swings; he made several mistakes, and Derek Dietrich made him pay with a pair of long balls. Incredibly, the Giants rallied and won the game in extras. Beede may get another start with Derek Holland (finger) on the injured list, but he would line up to pitch in Colorado next week, and that matchup takes him out of the conversation in most leagues.

Smith (elbow) was moved to the 60-day injured list Friday.

Smith will make way on the 40-man roster for Adeiny Hechavarria, whose contract was purchased in a corresponding move. The move has no effect on Smith's recovery timeline, as he's out for the season after undergoing Tommy John surgery.

Alexander no longer appears to be dealing with a hamstring injury, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Alexander was unavailable earlier in the week due to a tight hamstring, but the reliever was seen running around in the outfield prior to Friday's game against the Padres, suggesting he's no longer dealing with the issue. While nothing is confirmed yet, Alexander figures to be available out of the bullpen for the team's weekend series in San Diego.

Jackson was optioned to Triple-A San Antonio on Friday.

Jackson made three appearances during his time on the roster but failed to impress, allowing five runs in 2.1 innings. Adrian Houser was called up in a corresponding move.

Beede was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento for his scheduled start Friday against Cincinnati.

The length of Beede's stay on the roster could depend on how quickly Derek Holland can return from his finger injury. Beede fared poorly in two starts for the Giants in 2018, lasting a combined 7.2 innings while allowing seven runs. He's been far better in five starts for Sacramento this year, posting a 1.99 ERA and a 37.4 percent strikeout rate. Erik Kratz (hamstring) landed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move.
