Garcia pitched two-thirds of an inning Friday and allowed two inherited runners to score, pinning him with a blown save in a 2-1 loss to the Dodgers.

The runs were charged to starter Zac Gallen, but Garcia will be responsible for the blown save. The 26-year-old southpaw has a 2.76 ERA and 1.02 WHIP with 22 strikeouts in 29.1 innings this season, mostly while deployed in the middle innings.

Jansen earned his 24th save of the season by striking out the side in a perfect ninth inning to close out Friday's 2-1 win over the Marlins.

Jansen needed 15 pitches to whiff Harold Ramirez, Jorge Alfaro and pinch hitter Neil Walker for the save. It was his first appearance since he took the loss Tuesday versus the Phillies while trying to pitch through an injured right ankle. Jansen has had his ups and downs with a 3.63 ERA and 0.98 WHIP in 39.2 innings this season, having taken four blown saves.

Beede went eight innings Friday, allowing just three hits and a walk while striking out five in an extra-inning win over the Mets. He did not factor in the decision.

Beede went pitch for pitch with Mets ace Jacob deGrom in the outing, as the two starters exchanged zeroes for most of the game. Beede has now allowed three or fewer runs in five of his last six outings, lowering his ERA from 6.67 to 4.70 in that span. The 26-year-old has a 55:29 K:BB and 1.43 WHIP in 59.1 innings this season. He takes a 3-3 record into his next scheduled start versus the Cubs on Wednesday.

Morejon is expected to be recalled from Double-A Amarillo ahead of Saturday's game against the Cubs, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

Morejon has posted a 4.25 ERA with 44 punchouts through 36 innings with the Poodles this season, and he's set to join the major-league club as of Saturday. It's also worth noting that he's tossed seven consecutive scoreless frames in relief at Double-A, per Lin.

Jackson (5-2) blew his seventh save of the season Friday but recorded the win in a 4-3 victory over the Nationals, giving up two runs on two hits in an inning of relief while striking out two.

Called upon in the ninth inning to protect a 3-1 lead, Jackson instead served up a two-run homer to Victor Robles, only for Atlanta to walk it off in the bottom of the frame. Jackson now sports a 3.19 ERA and 66:18 K:BB through 48 innings, and despite his 17 saves on the year he remains a prime candidate to lose his spot as closer if Atlanta adds bullpen reinforcements at the trade deadline.

Kimbrel pitched a scoreless ninth inning with one walk and three strikeouts to record the save in Friday's 6-5 win over the Padres.

After a bit of a rocky start with his new team, Kimbrel has settled into a groove, as he now has five straight scoreless innings with nine strikeouts and four saves since blowing a save chance July 3. The 31-year-old still has a high 5.87 ERA, but that number should continue to come down if he keeps pitching like this, and the saves should keep piling up, too.

Floro was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday due to neck inflammation.

Floro gave up a run while retiring just one batter Thursday against the Phillies, though it's unclear as to when the issue flared up. He'll be eligible to return from the IL on July 29.

Alzolay was placed on the 7-day injured list Friday with right biceps inflammation, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

Alzolay was bothered by the issue during Wednesday's start, and the Cubs have elected to exercise caution by placing him on the shelf. He'll be eligible to return July 26.

Blach was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Blach has made just one appearance in the big leagues this season, and he was rocked for seven runs over 3.1 innings of work. He'll aim for a better result this time around.

Jerez was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Jerez picked up a win Thursday night against the Mets despite allowing a run over two innings, and he'll now head back to the minors. The Giants have recalled Ty Blach in a corresponding move.
