Ryan Helsley RP | BAL
Cardinals' Ryan Helsley: Mixed bag of late
Helsley earned his second hold Wednesday against the Pirates with a scoreless two-thirds of an inning, his fifth straight appearance of that length, but he has a 10.80 ERA over that stretch.
After similar inconsistency over his first three outings of the campaign, Helsley appeared to hit his stride by fashioning a 0.66 ERA and 0.80 WHIP across a 14-appearance stretch with two wins, a save and a hold. However, a recent pair of hiccups have contributed to his ratios on the season remaining at an elevated 4.91 ERA and 1.47 WHIP.

Trevor Hildenberger RP | SF
Giants' Trevor Hildenberger: Designated for assignment
Hildenberger was designated for assignment Friday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
He was claimed by the Giants just three days ago, but will relinquish his 40-man roster spot to Nick Tropeano, whose contract was selected.

Camilo Doval RP | NYY
Giants' Camilo Doval: Optioned to Triple-A
Doval was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
The rookie righty has a bright future in relief, but he registered a 7.59 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 13 strikeouts in 10.2 innings during his first stint with the Giants. Nick Tropeano was added to the big-league bullpen in a corresponding move.

Jordan Yamamoto RP | LAD
Mets' Jordan Yamamoto: In line for start
Yamamoto joined the Mets in Miami on Friday and is expected to start one of the weekend games against the Marlins, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
The Mets are dealing with injuries seemingly everywhere at the moment, including in the rotation. The team has yet to announce its starting pitcher for either Saturday or Sunday's contest, but one of them will presumably be Yamamoto. He'll get the chance to face his former team, a club for which he struggled to a 6.20 ERA in 90 innings over the last two seasons.

Yennsy Diaz RP | NYM
Mets' Yennsy Diaz: Recalled by Mets
Diaz was recalled by the Mets on Friday.
Diaz's big-league experience to date consists of a single relief outing for the Blue Jays in 2019, in which he walked four batters and allowed two runs while recording just two outs. He's set to get his first chance for his new team after coming over in the Steven Matz trade in January.

Carson Fulmer RP | PIT
Reds' Carson Fulmer: Designated for assignment
Fulmer was designated for assignment by the Reds on Friday.
Fulmer had been with the team since the start of the season, throwing 25.2 innings across 20 relief appearances, but he failed to find much success. He struggled to a 6.66 ERA , striking out 20.7 percent of opposing batters while walking 11.2 percent. His career 6.41 ERA means it's likely he passes through waivers unclaimed. Brad Brach's contract was selected in a corresponding move.

Trevor Richards RP | CHW
Brewers' Trevor Richards: Sent to Brewers with Adames
Richards and Willy Adames were acquired by the Brewers from the Rays on Friday in exchange for J.P. Feyereisen and Drew Rasmussen, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
The right-hander has a 4.50 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 16:3 K:BB through 12 innings this season and should join his new team sometime this weekend. Feyereisen and Rasmussen both saw significant work for the Brewers, so Richards should step into a sizable hole in the bullpen.

Spencer Howard SP | CLE
Phillies' Spencer Howard: Set to enter rotation
Howard will be called up to start Saturday against Boston, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
The Phillies would have preferred to bring Howard along slowly at the Triple-A level, but ineffectiveness from their other back-end starter options means he'll get the call after just three minor-league outings. Those starts spanned a total of just nine innings, and he maxed out at four frames in his most recent appearance, so he's unlikely to push towards 100 pitches right away. What exactly he'll offer the Phillies this year is something of a mystery, as he's a highly rated prospect but has so far struggled to a 6.28 ERA in 28.2 major-league innings, striking out a modest 23.1 percent of opposing batters after posting a career strikeout rate of 33.0 percent in 50 minor-league starts.

John Curtiss RP | ARI
Marlins' John Curtiss: Opening Friday
Curtiss will start Friday's game against the Mets, Craig Mish of SportsGrid.com reports.
The 28-year-old will serve as an opener for the second time this season to begin the weekend series. Curtiss has completed two innings on two occasions this season, and he's unlikely to pitch much deeper than that Friday. Jordan Holloway could be in the mix as a bulk option for Miami.

Kenley Jansen RP | DET
Dodgers' Kenley Jansen: Could be unavailable until Sunday
Manager Dave Roberts said Jansen may not be available Friday and Saturday in San Francisco after pitching in three of the past four games, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
The 33-year-old covered 3.1 innings on 46 pitches while picking up three saves during the four-game set versus the Diamondbacks this week, so Roberts wants to give his veteran closer a bit of a breather. Jansen shouldn't be expected to pitch Friday against the Giants, while his status for Saturday figures to be more up in the air. Blake Treinen has one save, 11 holds and a 2.00 ERA across 18 innings this season and is the likely candidate to cover the ninth inning in the meantime for Los Angeles.
