Kyle Finnegan RP | DET
Nationals' Kyle Finnegan: Collects fifth win
Finnegan (5-6) picked up the win Monday, giving up one hit and one walk over two scoreless innings in a 4-3 victory over the Mets. He struck out two.
With the Nats down 3-2, Finnegan entered in the eighth inning and kept his team in the game until Washington rallied in the ninth off Edwin Diaz. Finnegan worked both ends of Saturday's doubleheader as well and has tossed four innings over the last three days, so look for him to be unavailable Tuesday if the Nats manage to create a save situation.

Edwin Diaz RP | LAD
Mets' Edwin Diaz: Blows another save Monday
Diaz (5-5) took the loss Monday while blowing his sixth save of the season, giving up two runs on two hits and two walks in only one-third of an inning as the Mets fell 4-3 to the Nationals.
Called upon to protect a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the ninth inning, Diaz walked the first batter he faced on four pitches. After getting Juan Soto to fly out, the right-hander issued another free pass and then served up singles to the unheralded Andrew Stevenson and Carter Kieboom, the latter being a walkoff. Diaz has hit another rough patch at the worst possible time for a Mets squad fighting to get back into the playoff picture, blowing his last two save chances and giving up four runs with a 2:3 K:BB over 1.1 innings in that time.

Jay Jackson RP | MIN
Giants' Jay Jackson: Optioned to Triple-A
Jackson was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Jackson made five appearances after he was recalled in late August, and he allowed three runs in three innings. He'll head back to Triple-A Sacramento to make room in the Giants' bullpen for Kervin Castro, who will be available to make his major-league debut.

Duane Underwood RP | NYY
Pirates' Duane Underwood: Done for season
Underwood (shoulder) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Monday, Alex Stumpf of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.
The move confirms that Underwood's shoulder inflammation will shut him down for the season, as he was just placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday and there are far fewer than 60 days remaining in the campaign. It clears a spot for the Pirates to add Connor Overton to the 40-man roster after he was claimed off waivers from the Blue Jays.

Mitch White RP | MIL
Dodgers' Mitch White: Serving as bulk reliever Tuesday
White will serve as the primary pitcher during Tuesday's game against the Cardinals, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
The right-hander was called up Sunday, and he'll work behind an opener Tuesday. Although manager Dave Roberts hasn't indicated who the opener will be, White should be able to handle multiple innings during the contest. Across five major-league appearances since the All-Star break, the 26-year-old has posted a 3.10 ERA and 1.13 WHIP in 20.1 innings.

Andrew Vasquez RP | DET
Dodgers' Andrew Vasquez: Optioned to Triple-A
Vasquez was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
Vasquez made two appearances in the big leagues after his contract was selected Thursday, and he gave up an unearned run while striking out three in 1.2 innings. The southpaw will now head back to the minors after Neftali Feliz's contract was selected by the Dodgers on Monday.

Dylan Floro RP | ARI
Marlins' Dylan Floro: Loses game in extras
Floro (5-6) was tagged with the loss in extra innings Sunday against the Phillies after allowing one unearned run on one hit across one inning, striking out one.
Floro pitched the 10th inning but allowed the game-winning run on an RBI single from Odubel Herrera that scored Freddy Galvis. Despite the fact that he got tagged with the loss, it's worth noting that Floro has given up just one earned run over his last seven appearances (6.1 innings), putting up a 1.42 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP in that span.

Elieser Hernandez RP | ATL
Marlins' Elieser Hernandez: Fans six in no-decision
Hernandez didn't factor into the decision Sunday against Philadelphia after allowing three runs on three hits and a walk across five innings, striking out six.
Hernandez had issues with the long ball once again after allowing two homers, and he has given up at least one bomb in each of his six appearances this season and posting a career-worst 2.5 HR/9 thus far. He has also given up multiple runs in each of his last three outings and has yet to record a quality start, but he has limited the damage most of the time and still owns a 3.90 ERA through 32.1 innings this year. He also sports a strong 9.2 K/9, making it the third year in a row in which he has posted a 9.0 K/9 or higher.

Sam Coonrod RP | NYM
Phillies' Sam Coonrod: Lasts 1.1 innings as opener
Coonrod didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Marlins after allowing one run on one hit and one walk while fanning three across 1.1 innings. He also hit a batter.
Coonrod got the nod as the opener for Sunday's bullpen game, but as it has been the trend all season long, he didn't go deep and was removed with two outs to go in the second inning. He has allowed runs in two of his last five appearances since returning to the big-league roster and owns a 3.00 ERA -- though with an excellent 12.0 K/9 -- through six innings in that span.

Austin Pruitt RP | TEX
Marlins' Austin Pruitt: Outrighted to Triple-A
Pruitt cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday.
Pruitt was designated for assignment by the Marlins on Thursday but will remain in the organization with the Triple-A club. The right-hander has posted a 2.45 ERA and 0.63 WHIP in 3.2 innings across three appearances at Triple-A Jacksonville and will likely be in the mix if the Marlins need an extra bullpen arm.
