Tristan Beck RP | SF
Giants' Tristan Beck: Makes way back from IL
Beck (back) was reinstated from the 7-day injured list Sept. 13 and has worked 7.1 innings across two starts at Low-A San Jose, giving up five runs (four earned) on nine hits and a walk while striking out five.
Double-A Richmond initially placed Beck on its 7-day injured list June 9 with a herniated disc on the left side of his back. The right-hander began an extended rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League in August, and though he's now seemingly healthy again, the Giants opted to send him to Low-A rather than including him in Richmond's rotation.

Luke Jackson RP | SEA
Braves' Luke Jackson: Back with Atlanta
Atlanta activated Jackson from the paternity list Sunday.
Jackson rejoins Atlanta's bullpen after going on paternity leave Thursday. The righty has impressed with a 1.50 ERA and 18:5 K:BB in his last 12 innings and could potentially pitch in some save situations if closer Will Smith continues to struggle.

Keegan Thompson RP | COL
Cubs' Keegan Thompson: Activated, starting Sunday
Thompson (shoulder) was activated from the 10-day injured list and will start Sunday's game against the Brewers, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Thompson is back with the Cubs after right shoulder inflammation sidelined him since Sept. 2. He allowed seven earned runs in his last 3.2 innings before the injury, but he was very effective before those two bad outings and boasts a 3.54 ERA in 48.1 innings this season. Thompson hasn't provided a ton of length in any of his outings this season, so he should be expected to a go only a few innings in his first start off the IL.

Max Kranick RP | WAS
Pirates' Max Kranick: Officially recalled
The Pirates recalled Kranick from the taxi squad ahead of Sunday's start against the Marlins, Alex Stumpf of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.
The righty threw five perfect frames in his MLB debut but has struggled since and now has a 7.66 ERA and 1.78 WHIP in 24.2 total innings. Despite the uninspiring numbers, Kranick could remain in the rotation beyond Sunday now that Bryse Wilson (hamstring) is on the injured list.

Bryse Wilson RP | CHC
Pirates' Bryse Wilson: Heads to IL
Wilson was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a left hamstring strain, Alex Stumpf of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.
The righty will miss at least one start and could be out for the remainder of the season while his hamstring returns to full health. Wilson has posted a 4.91 ERA and 23:10 K:BB in 40.1 innings across eight starts since joining Pittsburgh at the deadline. Max Kranick was recalled to fill Wilson's roster spot and start Sunday's game.

Scott Effross RP | DET
Cubs' Scott Effross: Takes loss in relief
Effross (2-1) was tagged with the loss Saturday against Milwaukee after allowing two runs on three hits across two-thirds of an inning, fanning one.
Effross was coming off two straight scoreless appearances but didn't have his best stuff in this one, giving up a solo shot to Manny Pina and an RBI single to Kolten Wong, and he was unable to keep the Cubs in the game down the stretch. This was his worst outing of the year, but he has been decent since getting promoted to the big-league roster, posting a 3.86 ERA with a 13:2 K:BB through 9.1 innings across eight appearances.

Josh Hader RP | HOU
Brewers' Josh Hader: Extends save streak
Hader struck out two to record the save Saturday against the Cubs, allowing one hit and walking one.
Hader has been one of the best relievers in the National League this season and hasn't blown a save opportunity since July 7. Plus, he's yet to allow a run since the beginning of August and has tossed 16 straight scoreless outings. The left-hander has gone 33-for-34 in save chances while posting a career-best 1.34 ERA in 2021.

Devin Williams RP | NYM
Brewers' Devin Williams: Picks up eighth win
Williams fired a scoreless eighth inning and picked up his eighth win of the season Saturday against the Cubs.
Williams issued his fifth walk in five appearances Saturday, but he also struck out the side for the ninth time this season and wound up with the win when Manny Pina hit a go-ahead homer in the home half of the eighth. Williams was tagged for four earned runs by the Giants in his first September outing, but those are the only runs he has allowed in 26 appearances since June 23.

Giovanny Gallegos RP | LAD
Cardinals' Giovanny Gallegos: Notches ninth save
Gallegos fired a perfect ninth inning while striking one to earn the save in the win over the Padres on Saturday.
Gallegos entered the ninth inning with a one-run lead. He retired the side in order to pick up his ninth save of the season, a big performance where the Cardinals created even more room from the Padres in a multi-team race for the second wild-card spot. It was a solid outing after he blew a save in his previous appearance against the Mets. The 29-year-old has a 3.31 ERA and 0.86 WHIP with 86 strikeouts in 73.1 innings this season.

Jarlin Garcia RP | PIT
Giants' Jarlin Garcia: Gathers ninth hold
Garcia allowed a hit in a scoreless inning to earn a hold in Saturday's 2-0 win over Atlanta.
Garcia hit a rough patch recently, allowing four runs (two earned) in his last four innings, but he was able to get back on track Saturday in a close game. The southpaw has been an effective and versatile reliever with a 2.40 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 65:18 K:BB across 63.2 innings this season. He's added a 6-3 record, one save and eight holds, although his ability to work multiple innings has mostly kept him out of the closer conversation.
