Andrew Bellatti RP | PHI
Phillies' Andrew Bellatti: Contract selected by Phillies
Bellatti's contract was selected by the Phillies on Thursday.
The 30-year-old righty owns a 3.71 ERA in 26.2 career major-league innings, though his 19.3 percent strikeout rate and 10.5 percent walk rate suggest that number is due to rise. He'll fill a low-leverage role for the Phillies for now after Connor Brogdon and Damon Jones were optioned Wednesday.

Steven Wilson RP | TB
Padres' Steven Wilson: Hurls two stellar relief innings
Wilson pitched two perfect innings against the Giants on Wednesday, striking out five of the six batters he faced.
Sean Manaea was impressive in his six frames as a starter in the contest, and Wilson came on to relieve him in the seventh with San Francisco holding a one-run lead. Though the Padres were unable to muster a late-inning comeback, Wilson held the Giants at bay with two perfect frames during which he threw 21 of 26 pitches for strikes and fanned the final five batters to stand in against him. The impressive outing included nine swinging strikes and first-pitch strikes to five of the six hitters he faced. Wilson appears to be climbing up the bullpen pecking order thanks to a strong start to the campaign. Thus far he has racked up two wins, posted a 7:2 K:BB and allowed just one run over four innings.

Josh Hader RP | HOU
Brewers' Josh Hader: Secures third save
Hader earned a save against Baltimore on Wednesday, pitching a scoreless inning during which he walked one and didn't notch any strikeouts.
Hader wasn't as dominant as usual Wednesday, as he threw only six of 12 pitches for strikes and didn't collect any punchouts. Still, the left-hander collected his third save in three chances and didn't allow any hits. Hader has yet to give up a run this season and looks to be on his way to another campaign as one of the game's elite closers.

Wil Crowe RP | PIT
Pirates' Wil Crowe: Earns three-inning save
Crowe allowed one hit and one walk while striking out four across three innings to earn the save Wednesday against the Cubs.
Crowe was called upon to pitch the final three innings of Pittsburgh's 6-2 win, and he was able to secure the first save of his career as a result. Though Crowe didn't earn a spot in the rotation to begin the season, he has already made three multi-inning appearances out of the bullpen. He has yet to allow an earned run across seven frames while also posting a solid 9:3 K:BB.

Tyler Rogers RP | TOR
Giants' Tyler Rogers: Should rejoin team Friday
Rogers (personal) is expected to be activated from the paternity list Friday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Rogers was placed on the paternity list Tuesday, and he's set to return to the team Friday after spending a few days with his newly-expanded family. He picked up a loss in his last appearance Monday and has allowed one run on four hits with three strikeouts and zero walks over 2.2 innings this season.

Camilo Doval RP | NYY
Giants' Camilo Doval: Earns save
Doval allowed a hit, a walk, and a hit batsman in one inning while striking out two to earn his first save in a 2-1 win Wednesday over San Diego.
After loading the bases with two outs, Doval struck out Matt Beaty to end the game. It was his first save opportunity since his Opening Day blown save. Of the three save opportunities the Giants have had so far, Doval has been called upon twice with Dominic Leone receiving the other chance. Doval has now pitched in four of the first five games, and, while it's unclear who the primary closer for San Francisco is, he is certainly in the mix.

Sean Manaea RP | NYM
Padres' Sean Manaea: Six strikeouts in loss
Manaea (1-1) struck out six in six innings and allowed two runs on four hits and two walks in a 2-1 loss Wednesday in San Francisco.
Manaea pitched well in his second start of the season and held the Giants in check outside of a two-out, two-run double in the second inning by Luke Williams. Unfortunately for Manaea, Logan Webb was dominant and the Padres were unable to provide much in the form of run support. His next start will likely come early next week against Cincinnati.
-
Tanner Rainey RP | DET
Nationals' Tanner Rainey: Notches second save
Rainey gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning to record his second save of the season in Wednesday's 3-1 win over Atlanta.
The right-hander did give up a two-out single to Austin Riley to make things interesting, but Rainey is 2-for-2 in save chances to begin the season. As long as he keeps getting the job done, Nationals manager Dave Martinez will keep turning to him in the ninth, but Rainey still has a little more work to do before he can be considered the team's true closer.
-
Connor Brogdon RP | CLE
Phillies' Connor Brogdon: Sent to Triple-A
Brogdon was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley after Wednesday's 9-6 loss to the Mets, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Brogdon surrendered two runs over two-thirds of an inning during Wednesday's loss, and he'll head down to the minors in favor of a fresh arm. He had a 3.43 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 50:18 K:BB over 57.2 innings for Philadelphia last season and is likely to rejoin the big-league club before too long.

Reiver Sanmartin RP | SF
Reds' Reiver Sanmartin: Not starting, could follow opener
Sanmartin won't start Thursday's game against the Dodgers but could follow an opener, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
The 25-year-old was previously penciled in to start Thursday's series opener, but reliever Luis Cessa will instead take the mound for Cincinnati. The team hasn't officially announced that Sanmartin will pitch, but following an opener could be beneficial against a stacked lineup after he gave up five earned runs in his first start of the season.
