Jake Reed RP | LAD
Mets' Jake Reed: Recalled from Triple-A
Reed was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Reed was sent to the minors in mid-June but will rejoin the big club ahead of Thursday's matchup with the Marlins. The right-hander has appeared in four games for New York this year and has allowed eight earned runs with a 4:6 K:BB over 4.1 innings.

Adonis Medina RP | SEA
Mets' Adonis Medina: Sent down Thursday
Medina was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Medina fired three scoreless innings Wednesday against the Reds, and he'll head back to the minors in favor of a fresh bullpen arm. The 25-year-old has a 3.00 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 16:4 K:BB across 21 innings for the Mets this year, so it should only be a matter of time before he receives another look in the majors.

Jeff Hoffman RP | TOR
Reds' Jeff Hoffman: Starting nightcap
Hoffman is starting the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Pirates, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Hoffman made 11 starts for the Reds last year, but his first 29 appearances of the 2022 campaign have come out of the bullpen. However, he's recorded a career-best 3.29 ERA and 1.33 WHIP in 38.1 innings to begin the season. The right-hander tossed 1.1 innings Tuesday against the Mets, so he'll likely be on a pitch count during Thursday's nightcap.

Connor Brogdon RP | CLE
Phillies' Connor Brogdon: Kicks off rehab assignment
Brogdon (illness) will begin a rehab assignment Thursday with Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Brogdon shouldn't require more than an appearance or two in the minors before the Phillies bring him back from the COVID-19-related injured list. He was initially deactivated June 24 after testing positive for the virus.

Camilo Doval RP | NYY
Giants' Camilo Doval: Settles for hold
Doval allowed a run on one hit and three walks while striking out one in two-thirds of an inning, earning a hold in Wednesday's 7-5 win over the Diamondbacks.
Doval was brought in to protect a three-run lead, but he instead allowed four of the six batters he faced to get aboard. He left the game with the bases loaded, and Sam Long was able to strike out Jordan Luplow to close out the game. Doval hasn't been terribly plagued by walks this year, but he's allowed seven of them in his last 11 innings after a nearly month-long stretch without issuing a free pass. He owns a 3.28 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and 43:16 K:BB with 12 saves, two holds and two blown saves through 35.2 innings this season as the Giants' main closer.

John Brebbia RP | COL
Giants' John Brebbia: Nabs win Wednesday
Brebbia (4-1) earned the win Wednesday, pitching a perfect eighth inning against the Diamondbacks.
Brebbia became the pitcher of record as the Giants pulled ahead in the ninth inning, though Camilo Doval had to settle for a hold while Sam Long finished off the save. Through four innings in July, Brebbia hasn't allowed a run. He has a 2.48 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 35:10 K:BB across 36.1 innings while adding eight holds in a mid-leverage role for the season. He's also opened two games and could be an option in that capacity again since the Giants' rotation is temporarily short-staffed.

Reed Garrett RP | NYM
Nationals' Reed Garrett: Sidelined with biceps injury
The Nationals placed Garrett on the 15-day injured list Thursday with right biceps inflammation.
Garrett will be eligible to return for the Nationals' first game out of the All-Star break, but it's unclear if he'll be fully recovered from the injury by then. Prior to sustaining the injury, Garrett covered 7.2 innings out of the Washington bullpen and surrendered seven earned runs on 11 hits and seven walks. Joan Adon, who is scheduled to start Thursday's game in Philadelphia, was called up from Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move.
-
Alexis Diaz RP | TEX
Reds' Alexis Diaz: Expected to return Friday
Diaz (biceps) is expected to be activated off the 15-day injured list Friday, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Diaz has been out since June 19 while dealing with a biceps issue, but he faced live hitters Wednesday and is now on track to return from the injured list Friday. The 25-year-old will likely work his way back into a high-leverage role in the Reds' bullpen once healthy.
-
Bryse Wilson RP | PHI
Pirates' Bryse Wilson: Recalled as 27th man
Wilson was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis to serve as the 27th man during Thursday's doubleheader against the Reds, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.
Wilson will start the second game of Thursday's twin bill and will join the active roster on a temporary basis. The right-hander has struggled over his last five big-league outings, as he posted a 10.89 ERA and 2.27 WHIP in 20.2 innings during that time.

Daniel Bard RP | COL
Rockies' Daniel Bard: Takes third loss
Bard (3-3) allowed one earned run on three hits and a walk without recording an out to take the loss Wednesday against the Dodgers.
Bard entered in the ninth inning of a tie game and was unable to maintain the score. He wasn't hit particularly hard -- the game-winning hit didn't leave the infield -- but Bard has now allowed five hits and three walks while giving up two earned runs across his last three appearances. He went through a similar shaky stretch in mid-May and was able to rebound by not allowing an earned run in his next 13 appearances. More importantly, there is no indication that the Rockies are considering removing him from the closer role.
