Ramirez was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday, Alex Stumpf of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.

Ramirez was sent down Sunday but will quickly rejoin the Pirates' bullpen after Colin Holderman (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday. Over six relief appearances with the Pirates this year, Ramirez has posted a 6.43 ERA and 1.71 WHIP in seven innings.

Holderman exited Wednesday's appearance against Atlanta due to right shoulder soreness and will be unavailable for at least the next two weeks. A timetable for his return isn't yet clear, but Yohan Ramirez was recalled Friday to provide additional bullpen depth.

Nance will start Friday's game against the Dodgers, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

The Marlins will employ a bullpen game Friday, and Nance will be the first pitcher on the mound. The 31-year-old has covered two or three frames in each of his last three outings and should have a similar workload versus Los Angeles.

Devenski was designated for assignment by Arizona on Thursday.

Devenski was called up in late July but didn't do much in his 10 appearances, posting a 7.59 ERA over 10.2 innings. He's thrown just 21.2 innings at the major-league level since the start of the 2020 season, struggling to a 9.14 ERA over that stretch. That likely means the 31-year-old will pass through waivers unclaimed.

Diaz gave up a hit and a walk while striking out one in a scoreless eighth inning Thursday, recording his third hold of the season in a win over the Rockies.

With the Mets nursing a 3-1 lead and the heart of the Colorado order due up in the eighth, manager Buck Showalter turned to his closer rather than reserving Diaz for a save situation. The right-hander got the job done, while Adam Ottavino took care of the Rockies' 7-8-9 hitters in the ninth. Diaz's job as closer is in no jeopardy -- he's tied for fifth in the majors with 28 saves and sports a league-leading 17.5 K/9 -- but Showalter's willingness to use him in crucial high-leverage spots rather than exclusively in the ninth could cost him another save or two down the stretch. Two of his three holds on the year have come in his last three appearances.

Ottavino earned a save against the Rockies on Thursday, striking out one batter in a perfect ninth inning.

The Mets elected to use closer Edwin Diaz in the eighth inning Thursday, so it was Ottavino who got the opportunity to close the door in the ninth. The right-hander proved up to the task, needing only 12 pitches to set the side down in order. Ottavino saved 11 contests with Boston last season, but Diaz is the unquestioned closer for New York, so save opportunities for other relievers will likely be few and far between.

Hudson (7-6) allowed two earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four across seven innings to earn the win Thursday against the Cubs.

Hudson gave up a run in each of the second and third innings, but he otherwise shut down the Cubs on the basis of 10 groundball outs. He also generated 12 swinging strikes on 97 total pitches, an impressive mark given his typically contact-heavy approach. The strong outing marked Hudson's first quality start in his last four starts and it was also the first time he completed six innings in that same span. For the season, he owns a 4.23 ERA and 70:55 K:BB across 121.1 frames.

Moreta was recalled from Triple-A Louisville on Thursday.

Moreta was sent down by the Reds in early August, and he's posted a 6.00 ERA and 1.67 WHIP in six innings over six relief appearances in the minors following his demotion. However, he'll rejoin the major-league bullpen after T.J. Zeuch (back) was placed on the 15-day injured list Thursday.

The Rockies designated Stephenson for assignment Thursday.

The transaction clears a spot on the 26-man active roster for right-hander Chad Kuhl (hip), who was activated from the 15-day injured list with the expectation that he'll rejoin the rotation during this weekend's series with the Mets. Stephenson delivered underwhelming numbers while mostly working in a middle-relief role for the Rockies this season, producing a 6.04 ERA and 1.48 WHIP over 44.2 innings.

Robertson picked up the save Wednesday against Cincinnati, allowing one walk while striking out one over one scoreless inning.

Robertson has been great since being dealt to Philadelphia, sporting a 1.83 ERA and 1.03 WHIP over 9.2 innings in nine outings. The righty has allowed zero runs in eight of those nine outings and has recorded the save in four of his last five opportunities. The 37-year-old's only blemish in his time with the Phillies was a blown save against the Mets in which he allowed two runs in 0.2 innings.
