Joe Mantiply RP | TOR
Diamondbacks' Joe Mantiply: Collapses in ninth
Mantiply suffered a blown save after he pitched two-thirds of an inning, allowing three runs (one earned) on two hits and a walk in Monday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Brewers.
Mantiply was called upon to protect a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the ninth inning, but he quickly ran into trouble. The left-hander surrendered a solo home run to Hunter Renfroe to open the frame before Christian Yelich and Kolten Wong came around to score on an error with two outs in the inning. The reliever was removed from the contest with two outs in the ninth and the score knotted up at 4-4, resulting in his sixth blown save of the campaign. Mantiply has now gone 2-for-8 on save opportunities this year while posting a 2.85 ERA and 1.08 WHIP with 61 strikeouts over 60 innings in 69 appearances in 2022.

Alexis Diaz RP | TEX
Reds' Alexis Diaz: Yields run, earns save
Diaz allowed one run on two walks in one inning while picking up a save over the Cubs on Monday.
Diaz struggled with his command and nearly let the Cubs make a late comeback but he escaped with his 10th save of the year. The right-handed rookie has given up three earned runs over his last 12 appearances since his last blown save Aug. 23. Despite the shaky outing, Diaz owns a 1.88 ERA with an 81:33 K:BB through 58 appearances.

Cory Abbott RP | SEA
Nationals' Cory Abbott: Start rained out
Abbott won't make his scheduled start Monday against the Mets as the game has been postponed due to inclement weather, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
The two teams are now set to play a doubleheader Tuesday, with Abbott slated to start Game 1, per Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com. Paolo Espino is in line to take the mound for the nightcap.

Andre Jackson RP | PIT
Dodgers' Andre Jackson: Back in minors
Jackson was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
After giving up two earned runs over four innings out of the bullpen Sunday, Jackson will once again return to Triple-A. He's fared well in his four appearances this season, putting up a 1.86 ERA and 1.34 WHIP over 9.2 innings. However, with the return of Tony Gonsolin (forearm) from the injured list, Jackson serves as the roster casualty.

Andrew Vasquez RP | DET
Giants' Andrew Vasquez: Contract selected Monday
Vasquez's contract was selected from Triple-A Sacramento on Monday.
Vasquez lost his spot on the Giants' 40-man roster in late August but went unclaimed on waivers and remained in the organization. He should serve as a low-leverage reliever during the Giants' final series of the regular season after Thomas Szapucki (hip) was placed on the 15-day IL.

Thomas Szapucki RP | SF
Giants' Thomas Szapucki: Headed to injured list
Szapucki was placed on the 15-day injured list with a hip strain Monday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Szapucki dealt with hip tightness in late September but returned to the mound late last week. However, he's apparently been diagnosed with a strain that will force him to miss the final series of the regular season. The southpaw made 11 appearances (one start) between the Mets and Giants this year and posted a 7.20 ERA and 1.73 WHIP in 15 innings.

Elieser Hernandez RP | ATL
Marlins' Elieser Hernandez: Called up Monday
Hernandez was recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Hernandez has been in the minors since mid-August, but he'll rejoin the Marlins' active roster after Edward Cabrera (ankle) was placed on the 15-day injured list. Since Sandy Alcantara won't start Wednesday's regular-season finale against Atlanta, Hernandez should be considered a strong candidate to start as long as he isn't used out of the bullpen Monday or Tuesday.

Jake Cousins RP | LAD
Brewers' Jake Cousins: Recalled from Triple-A
Cousins was recalled from Triple-A Nashville on Monday.
Cousins last stint in the majors came in late September and lasted just three games. In that time, he allowed one hit, zero runs and struck out five batters over 3.1 innings. With Justin Topa (ankle) heading to the 15-day injured list, Cousins will remain with the Brewers for their final series of the regular season.
-
Justin Topa RP | MIN
Brewers' Justin Topa: Heads to injured list
Topa was placed on the 15-day injured list with a right ankle contusion Monday.
Topa was called up by the Brewers on Wednesday, and he gave up two runs on two hits and no walks while failing to strike out a batter in two innings over two appearances following his promotion. While the right-hander would be able to return if the Brewers make the postseason and go on a run, his season is likely over. Right-hander Jake Cousins was called up to take his place in the bullpen late in the regular season.

Shelby Miller RP | CHC
Giants' Shelby Miller: Excelling in return to majors
Miller struck out one in a scoreless inning Sunday in the Giants' 4-3 win over the Diamondbacks.
The 31-year-old right-hander has struggled to stick at the big-league level in recent years while bouncing around between multiple organizations, but he's made a strong early impression since joining the Giants following his Sept. 22 call-up from Triple-A Sacramento. Through his first three relief outings, Miller has yet to allow a run in 5.2 innings while scattering four hits, issuing no walks and striking out 13. Even if he's unable to land a major-league deal this winter, Miller's strong finish to 2022 should put him in position to be a high-priority minor-league signing.
