Justin Lawrence RP | PIT
Rockies' Justin Lawrence: Struggles in loss
Lawrence (1-2) allowed three runs (two earned) on two hits and one walk while striking out two across 1.1 innings to take the loss Friday against the Phillies.
Lawrence has had an excellent start to the season, as he entered Saturday's game having made 10 consecutive scoreless appearances. He stumbled Friday, however, allowing two doubles and a walk with two outs in the eighth inning. Lawrence has the skills to be Colorado's closer -- he has a 2.18 ERA and 24:9 K:BB across 20.2 innings -- but he has been locked into a setup role early on in the campaign.

Craig Kimbrel RP | TB
Phillies' Craig Kimbrel: Locks down fourth save
Kimbrel allowed a hit and struck out three in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Friday's 6-3 win over the Rockies.
This was Kimbrel's first save chance in his last five outings. He's kept runs off the board in three straight appearances, and with Jose Alvarado (elbow) on the injured list, Kimbrel should be in line for a higher share of save chances. The veteran reliever has struggled to a 6.60 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 24:9 K:BB across 15 innings this season while adding four saves, three holds and a 2-1 record through 17 appearances.

Ryan Helsley RP | BAL
Cardinals' Ryan Helsley: Earns first win
Helsley (1-2) retired all six batters he faced and earned a win over Boston on Friday. He struck out four.
Helsley entered in the eighth inning with two runners on base and allowed an inherited runner to score the go-ahead run on a groundout. The Cardinals took the lead back in the ninth and Helsley struck out the side to finish the game. He's registered an 8:1 K:BB with zero earned runs over his last seven frames. Helsley's season ERA has dropped to 2.76 through 14 appearances.

Dominic Leone RP | CHW
Mets' Dominic Leone: Being evaluated for discomfort
Leone felt discomfort while warming up in the bullpen against the Nationals on Friday and is being evaluated, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
Leone did not come in to pitch after feeling the discomfort, with Drew Smith getting the final out and picking up the save. For now, Leone should be considered day-to-day.

Daniel Hudson RP | LAD
Dodgers' Daniel Hudson: Remains without timetable
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters Friday that Hudson's knee still isn't 100 percent, and there is no real timeline for his return, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Hudson is throwing, but until the soreness in his knee subsides there's no chance for the right-handed reliever to begin a rehab assignment or even begin bullpen sessions. The 36-year-old has yet to pitch in 2023 while recovering from left knee surgery, and there's a good chance he won't be back on the mound until later in the summer.

Ryan Weathers SP | NYY
Padres' Ryan Weathers: Rejoining rotation, starting Sunday
The Padres will call up Weathers from Triple-A El Paso to start Sunday's game against the Dodgers in Los Angeles, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Weathers will be added to the rotation to afford Michael Wacha an extra day of rest, with Wacha having now been pushed back to make his next start Monday against the Royals. The 23-year-old southpaw has pitched well in his 16 innings with the Padres this season, logging a 2.81 ERA and 1.19 WHIP over 16 innings.

Cole Waites RP | DET
Giants' Cole Waites: Optioned to Triple-A
Waites was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento by the Giants on Thursday, Amy Gutierrez of the Giants' official site reports.
The move happened after San Francisco's victory over Arizona on Thursday. It clears room for Alex Wood, who is coming off the 15-day injured list Friday. Waites will likely be an up-and-down option for the Giants throughout the 2023 campaign.

Anthony Misiewicz RP | CIN
Diamondbacks' Anthony Misiewicz: Recalled from Triple-A
Arizona recalled Misiewicz from Triple-A Reno on Friday.
The left-hander will replace Joe Mantiply, who landed on the 15-day injured list with a strained right hamstring. Misiewicz was previously with the D-Backs in April, and he registered a 3.86 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over 4.2 innings.

Joe Mantiply RP | TOR
Diamondbacks' Joe Mantiply: Placed on 15-day IL
Arizona placed Mantiply on the 15-day injured list Friday, retroactive to May 9, with a right hamstring strain.
Anthony Misiewicz has been called up from Triple-A Reno to handle a lefty relief role. The 32-year-old Mantiply was sporting a sharp 2.35 ERA with eight strikeouts and zero walks through 7.2 innings this season. He's expected to be out 3-4 weeks.
