Pearson (lat) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment Sunday with Single-A Dunedin, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.

Pearson progressed to facing live batters earlier this week and has now been cleared for game action in the minors. The 26-year-old should make an appearance or two for Dunedin before moving the rehab assignment up to Triple-A Buffalo.

Bautista picked up the save in Thursday's 3-0 victory over the Guardians, allowing one walk while striking out two over one inning.

Bautista has converted nine straight save opportunities, and he has recorded a 0.75 ERA and 0.50 WHIP in 12 innings over his last 10 appearances. In addition, the righty has allowed just one baserunner in his last five outings, striking out 10 in seven innings during that stretch.

Hernandez (1-1) blew the save and took the loss against the Red Sox on Thursday, allowing four runs on four hits and three walks while recording only one out (on a strikeout).

The Rangers carried a three-run lead into the ninth inning, and they turned to Hernandez to slam the door. The righty reliever clearly didn't have his best stuff, as he threw only 14 of 26 pitches for strikes and walked the first two batters he faced. Boston followed with a pair of hits to plate two runs, and after Hernandez struck out J.D. Martinez and issued an intentional walk to Christian Arroyo, two more Red Sox hits plated the tying and winning runs. Hernandez entered the contest with a 1.69 ERA, but that number ballooned to 3.86 following his first loss and first blown save of the campaign.

Otto didn't factor in the decision against Boston on Thursday, allowing three runs on four hits and one walk while striking out eight batters over five-plus innings.

Otto had his strikeout stuff working against the Red Sox, as he notched a season-high eight punchouts while inducing 12 swinging strikes. He departed after giving up a leadoff homer to Alex Verdugo in the sixth inning, but he was in line for the win with Texas up by a run. The Rangers' bullpen collapsed late in the game, however, denying Otto of a second straight victory. The right-hander nonetheless started September on a decent foot after posting a promising 2.93 ERA and 1.23 WHIP across five starts covering 27.2 innings in August. On another positive note, Otto walked only one batter Thursday following a four-game stretch during which he averaged 3.8 free passes per contest.

Mengden (0-1) allowed three earned runs on five hits and one walk while striking out two across 2.2 innings to take the loss Thursday against the White Sox.

Mengden made his first appearance in the majors since June 25, and it was also his first start of the season. He pitched a clean two innings to begin the outing, but he allowed six of the first seven batters he faced in the third frame to reach base -- including a two-run homer from Andrew Vaughn. Mengden could stick in the rotation until Zack Greinke (forearm) is able to return.

Solomon was designated for assignment by the Astros on Thursday.

The 26-year-old began the season as one of Houston's top pitching prospects but has now lost his place on the 40-man roster. Solomon has started in 18 of 23 outings for Triple-A Sugar Land this year and has a 5.20 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 88:44 K:BB over 97 innings.

The Rangers transferred Sborz (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Thursday.

The transaction clears room on the 40-man roster for right-hander Jesus Tinoco, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Round Rock ahead of Thursday's game in Boston. The move also ends Sborz's season, as he was first placed on the 15-day IL on Tuesday due to the right elbow sprain. The 28-year-old reliever made 19 appearances for Texas, churning out a 6.45 ERA and 1.61 WHIP while striking out 32 over 22.1 innings.

Morris (shoulder) was activated from the 60-day injured list Thursday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Morris was shut down with a strain of the teres major muscle in his right shoulder in late March and has been on the shelf all season, but he's now poised to make his make his MLB debut with Cleveland. The 25-year-old pitched well during his six rehab games with Triple-A Columbus with a 2.35 ERA, 0.73 WHIP and 30:6 K:BB over 15.1 innings. The right-hander is being developed as a starter but is likely to work as a multi-inning reliever in his first taste of the big leagues.

Borucki (forearm) is slated to undergo more medical testing in Seattle before the week is out but is running out of time to return this season, the team's official site reports. "He'd have to put a ball in his hand real soon to have a chance to come back and help us," manager Scott Servais said.

Borucki sustained his injury during an Aug. 8 relief appearance against the Yankees and hit the injured list a day later. Now approaching one month on the shelf and with no reports of an imminent return, it appears Borucki, who's 2-0 with a 4.26 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and four holds across 21 appearances since joining the Mariners, could be sidelined the rest of the regular season.

Bazardo had his contract selected by the Red Sox on Thursday.

Bazardo was designated for assignment in April after failing to make Boston's Opening Day roster, and he'll now receive his first look in the majors this season. The 27-year-old made his big-league debut with three scoreless frames in 2021, and he has a .3.45 ERA. 1.47 WHIP and 60:19 K:BB across 57.1 innings for Triple-A Worcester this year.
