Bazardo (3-2) earned the win Friday against the Royals after tossing 1.1 perfect innings, striking out three.
Bazardo entered the game with two outs in the sixth and retired Salvador Perez before striking out the side in the seventh. Bazardo needed just 25 pitches (15 strikes) to record those four outs, continuing an impressive stretch of late. Bazardo got his first win of the season Sunday when he pitched 1.1 scoreless innings with one strikeout in the 3-2 win over the Cardinals.
Bazardo was a revelation out of the bullpen for the Mariners last season ending the year with 73 appearances and a 2.52 ERA and a 82:27 K:BB over 78.2 frames. The right-hander already has appeared in 13 games so far in 2026 despite a bullpen that boasts a lot of big names such as Anthony Munoz and Gabe Speier. So far, Bazardo has been thrown into high-leverage situations accumulating three holds and a win and a loss this season.

That's now seven consecutive scoreless appearances for Bazardo, who's given up just three runs over his past 16 outings. The right-hander has been very effective out of Seattle's bullpen since the start of June, turning in a 1.73 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 38:14 K:BB across his last 36.1 innings.

The 29-year-old right-hander submitted his fourth consecutive scoreless appearance and his eighth in his last nine outings. Bazardo is searching for some consistency, as he's given up at least one run in three of his seven appearances this month. His longest scoreless stretch of the season is just five outings, which he accomplished from April 6 through April 15, but he's still kept his ratios in check with a 4.21 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 21:11 K:BB over 25.2 innings. The Mariners optioned Bazardo to Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.
Just two days after coming up from the minors, Bazardo will be sent back down to Triple-A without appearing in a game. Troy Taylor was selected from Double-A Arkansas to fill the open roster spot.
