  • Ryan Yarbrough RP | NYY

Royals' Ryan Yarbrough: Beginning rehab assignment Monday

Yarbrough (head) will begin a rehab assignment with the Royals' Arizona Complex League affiliate Monday.

Yarbrough has been on the injured list since May 8 after being hit in the head by a line drive, and he was transferred to the 60-day IL in mid-May. However, he faced hitters Wednesday and has now been cleared to return to game action in the minors. The southpaw isn't eligible to be activated until early July, but he should have plenty of time to build back up during his rehab assignment.

  • Hogan Harris RP | ATH

Athletics' Hogan Harris: Pitches well in loss

Harris (2-1) allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out seven over six innings, but he took the loss Sunday versus the Phillies.

Harris got off to a rough start when Kyle Schwarber tagged him for a solo home run in the first inning. Schwarber added an RBI single in the fifth for the other run on Harris' line, but the Athletics' offense couldn't get him off the hook. This was Harris' second good outing in a row -- his last was a seven-inning effort behind an opener, so Sunday marked his first quality start. The 26-year-old owns a 4.45 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 21:10 K:BB through 28.1 innings this season, and he's given up just two homers. He's projected for a road start in Toronto for his next outing.

  • Braden Bristo RP | DET

Tigers' Braden Bristo: Cast off 40-man roster

Bristo was designated for assignment by the Tigers on Sunday.

Bristo served as the 27th man for the Tigers' doubleheader against Atlanta on Wednesday but will lose his spot on the 40-man roster after Detroit acquired Blair Calvo from Colorado on Sunday. If Bristo goes unclaimed on waivers, it wouldn't be surprising to see him remain at Triple-A Toledo.

  • Blair Calvo RP | DET

Tigers' Blair Calvo: Acquired by Detroit

Calvo was traded from the Rockies to the Tigers on Sunday in exchange for cash considerations.

Calvo was designated for assignment by Colorado on Thursday but will join Detroit's 40-man roster a few days later. The right-hander was optioned to Triple-A Toledo to begin his time with his new club, but it's possible he provides bullpen depth for the Tigers at some point.

  • Matt Moore RP | BOS

Angels' Matt Moore: Throws bullpen Sunday

Moore (oblique) threw a bullpen session Sunday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Manager Phil Nevin said Sunday that Moore's bullpen went better than expected, and the southpaw is scheduled for another bullpen Tuesday or Wednesday. If he feels good again following his mid-week throwing session, it wouldn't be surprising to see him embark on a rehab assignment soon.

  • Felix Bautista RP | BAL

Orioles' Felix Bautista: Secures 19th save

Bautista didn't allow a baserunner and recorded one strikeout during the ninth inning of Sunday's victory over the Cubs to earn his 19th save of the season.

The right-hander is now 19-for-23 in save opportunities this season, and he has a 19:1 K:BB while converting his past eight chances. Bautista ranks third in the league in saves and remains arguably the most dominant closer in the majors with a 1.08 ERA and 50.4 percent strikeout rate.

  • Jorge Lopez RP | WAS

Twins' Jorge Lopez: Out for mental health reasons

The Twins transferred Lopez from the restricted list to the 15-day injured list for mental health reasons Sunday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Minnesota initially placed the right-hander on the restricted list earlier Sunday before moving him to the IL. Lopez has given up 12 earned runs, including five homers, in his past eight appearances, and he'll now step away from the team in order to address his mental health.

  • Tigers' Anthony Misiewicz: Claimed by Detroit

Misiewicz was claimed off waivers by the Tigers and optioned to Triple-A Toledo on Sunday.

The left-hander was recently designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks and will now join a new organization. Misiewicz had a 5.63 ERA across eight innings for Arizona before he suffered a calf strain May 19, and the club opted not to keep him around after reinstating him from the injured list last weekend.

  • Twins' Jordan Balazovic: Called up by Minnesota

Balazovic was called up from Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday.

The 24-year-old will take the roster spot of Jorge Lopez, who was placed on the restricted list. Balazovic has shifted to a bullpen role at St. Paul this season and has a 4.79 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 50:21 K:BB across 35.2 innings.

  • Jorge Lopez RP | WAS

Twins' Jorge Lopez: Lands on restricted list

Lopez was placed on the restricted list Sunday for unspecified reasons.

The reason for the transaction is unclear, though Lopez has surrendered 12 earned runs, including five homers, in his past eight outings and has a 5.00 ERA this season. It remains to be seen when the right-hander will rejoin the Twins.
