Giancarlo Stanton goes deep twice
Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton continued his strong play Friday against the Mets, as he slugged a pair of home runs in a 4-3 loss.
Stanton clubbed two solo home runs in the game, his fourth in the last six games. He drove in two runs and scored twice, while striking out in each of his other two at-bats to finish 2 for 4.
Stanton is hitting .256 on the season, but has been better in the month of September, with a .306 batting average. He has 22 home runs and 52 RBI in 367 at-bats for the season.

Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton was the offensive star of Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Braves, going 2 for 3 with one walk, three RBI and his 20th home run of the season.
The home run was his seventh in his last 22 games dating back to Aug. 17. In a season where an injury cost Stanton over a month of time, he has hit .253/.370/.485 with 20 homers and 50 RBI in 359 at-bats.

Making his return to the lineup for the first time since Friday due to hip inflammation, Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper went 1 for 4 in his team's 3-0 win over the Mets Wednesday.
Harper has hit just six of his 19 homers in the second half but put together an 11-game hit streak near the end of August and had walked at least once in each of his four September games before Wednesday. He has hit .273/.376/.501 in 363 at-bats.
