Mets C Travis d'Arnaud (elbow) placed on 15-day disabled list
Mets catcher Travis d'Arnaud has been placed on the 15-day disabled list. The 26-year-old was injured in Saturday's game against the Braves, and hasn't played since, due to a hyperextended left elbow.
d'Arnaud, who was officially diagnosed with a sprained elbow, is heading back to New York to meet with doctors after receiving an MRI on Monday in Milwaukee, according to ESPN.com.
The young backstop just recently returned from a two-month stay on the disabled list with a broken finger. He's hitting .267 with two home runs and seven RBI in eight games since returning in June 10.
Johnny Monell has been recalled from Triple-A to take d'Arnaud's place on the roster.

Neck problem has Indians C Yan Gomes out again Monday
A nagging neck issue has Indians catcher Yan Gomes sidelined again Monday for the start of a series against Detroit.
Gomes missed the game Friday with the problem and returned to the lineup Saturday, but has now been out the last two games.
His continued absence could further push back the search for his swing after a long absence due to injury earlier in the year. The 2014 surprise has just three hits in his last 26 at-bats and owns a slash line .204/.214/.301.

Mets C Travis d'Arnaud not destined to change positions
The Mets are not considering moving catcher Travis d'Arnaud to a new position despite his recent spate of injuries.
d'Arnaud missed 46 games this season with a broken pinkie, which was the result of a hit-by-pitch. But he also suffered a concussion last season when Alfonso Soriano hit him in the head with a backswing and broke his toe when a foul ball slammed off his foot in 2013. He is now dealing with a hyperextended elbow sustained while making a tag at the plate.
Terry Collins, however, is not about to move him elsewhere.
"I don't know why we would," he told the New York Daily News. "Number one, I don't know where he is going to go. Is he going to play third? I don't think so. Is he going to go play second, or center field or left field? If he plays, somebody doesn't."
Collins added that he hopes d'Arnaud can return to the lineup Tuesday in Milwaukee.

Grandal also singled in the game, as he went 3 for 5 with the two home runs. Before Sunday's offensive explosion, Grandal had been rather cold at the plate. The three hits he collected on Sunday match the total from his previous four starts.

Mets C Travis d'Arnaud leaves Saturday's contest with injury
Mets catcher Travis d'Arnaud exited Saturday's game in the sixth inning after suffering an apparent arm injury while attempting to tag Braves catcher A.J. Pierzynski on a sacrifice fly. The Mets announced that d'Arnaud suffered a left elbow injury. X-rays were negative and he is day-to-day with a hyperextended elbow.
With Pierzynski on third base, Pedro Ciriaco hit a fly ball to left field, and Michael Cuddyer's throw came up the line to d'Arnaud, at the same time Pierzynski headed home.
d'Arnaud and Pierzynski were tangled up and the Mets catcher lay on the field for several minutes before leaving under his power and being replaced by Kevin Plawecki.
d'Arnaud had recently returned from the disabled list after breaking his finger. He was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs before leaving the game.
