McGuire is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Though he'll give way to Connor Wong behind the dish, McGuire may be pushing his way into a timeshare at catcher. McGuire had started in three of the past four games and four of the past six, going 2-for-14 with a pair of doubles and two walks during that stretch.

Kolozsvary was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Kolozsvary was only up in the majors for a couple days and didn't receive a plate appearance. He's clearing out to make room for the addition of Joey Ortiz to the roster.

Kirk went 3-for-5 with three RBI in Tuesday's 11-6 loss to Baltimore.

Kirk was responsible for half of Toronto's scoring Tuesday, picking up three RBI singles in the lopsided defeat. The 24-year-old backstop has gone 5-for-9 in his last two games following a 3-for-19 (.158) stretch over his previous seven contests. Through 192 plate appearances this season, Kirk's slashing .266/349/.349 with three homers, 14 runs scored and 21 RBI while splitting catching duties with Danny Jansen.

Rogers is out of the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader with Atlanta.

Eric Haase will handle catching duties in the early game while Rogers rests up after starting behind the plate in three of the Tigers' previous four contests. Expect Rogers to work in a battery with starting pitcher Michael Lorenzen in the nightcap.

Raleigh went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer, a walk and an additional run scored in Tuesday's win over Miami.

Raleigh kicked off the scoring with a three-run blast off Edward Cabrera in the second inning. The home run represented both his first hit and first RBI since May 31, as he came into Tuesday with no hits in his last 21 at-bats. Raleigh remains a below-average contact hitter, but his power numbers are also down with a .201 ISO compared to a .278 ISO from a season ago. The 26-year-old is slashing .211/.295/.412 with nine homers, 29 RBI, 29 runs and a 23:56 BB:K over 217 plate appearances.

Maldonado went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's win over the Nationals.

Maldonado's only hit of the night was a big one, after he took Chad Kuhl deep to left to begin the bottom of the seventh. It was his first hit in six games since June 3 and his first home run since May 22. Maldonado's struggles have continued at the plate again this year. He's slashing just .188/.271/.295 with four homers, nine RBI, 12 runs and a 14:53 BB:K over 170 plate appearances.

Bethancourt is not in the starting lineup versus the Athletics on Tuesday.

Bethancourt has struggled mightily in the month of June with a .115/.148/.115 slash line over 27 plate appearances. He'll get Tuesday off against Oakland with Francisco Mejia starting behind the plate and hitting ninth.

The Orioles selected Kolozsvary from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.

With Ryan Mountcastle (illness) landing on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Kolozsvary will serve as Mountcastle's roster replacement. The 27-year-old backstop hasn't had much success at the plate in Triple-A, slashing just .162/.250/.265 through 76 plate appearances. He will presumably serve as a bench piece while in the majors.

Vazquez is not in the starting lineup Tuesday versus the Brewers.

Vazquez will take a seat after he went 0-for-7 with two strikeouts while starting twice during the Twins' three-game series with Toronto. Ryan Jeffers will draw the start behind the plate and bat sixth in the series opener with Milwaukee.

Jansen (groin) was activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Jansen has been on the shelf since late May with a left groin strain but is ready to roll following a couple rehab games. He had been catching more than Alejandro Kirk before getting injured but might be eased back into things.
