  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

Athletics' Gio Urshela: Getting day off

Urshela is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.

Urshela will get some rest for the day game after he started in each of the last three games. Luis Urias will check in for Urshela at third base.

  • Jose Caballero 2B | NYY

Rays' Jose Caballero: Making first start in outfield

Caballero will start in right field and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Pirates, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

Caballero has logged six career innings in the outfield over his two-plus seasons in the big leagues, but he'll be making his first start at an outfield spot Wednesday. Though Caballero still seems to be viewed as a utility player, manager Kevin Cash could continue to explore ways to get the speedy 28-year-old in the lineup while he's putting good plate appearances together. Through three games, Caballero has gone 3-for-6 with three walks, one double, three RBI, one run and one stolen base.

  • Will Wagner 2B | SD

Blue Jays' Will Wagner: Sitting against left-hander

Wagner is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Nationals.

The Blue Jays faced right-handers in each of the first six games of the season and the left-handed hitting Wagner was in the lineup for all of them. With the Nationals sending southpaw MacKenzie Gore to the hill, Wagner will take a seat. Ernie Clement is at third base for the Blue Jays, and George Springer is at designated hitter.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Not in Wednesday's lineup

Garcia is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game in Milwaukee.

Garcia didn't start Opening Day but had been in the lineup for each of the last four games before beginning this one on the bench. Jonathan India is covering third base for the Royals against Freddy Peralta and the Brewers.

  • Oliver Dunn 3B | TB

Brewers' Oliver Dunn: On bench against lefty

Dunn is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Dunn has started in just two of the Brewers' first six games, but all four of his absences from the lineup have come against left-handed pitching. He appears to be in a strict platoon at third base with Vinny Capra, who will get another start Wednesday but should see his playing time fade once the Brewers face more right-handers.

  • Jose Miranda 3B | MIN

Twins' Jose Miranda: Absent from Wednesday's lineup

Miranda is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the White Sox.

Miranda started each of the first five games at third base for the Twins, but he will begin the second game of the series against the White Sox on the bench. Willi Castro is at the hot corner and Edouard Julien will occupy second base for Minnesota.

  • Reds' Jeimer Candelario: Makes first start at 1B

Candelario started at first base and went 0-for-3 in Tuesday's 1-0 loss to the Rangers.

Candelario made his first start of the season at first base, as Christian Encarnacion-Strand, the club's primary first baseman, was held out after getting plunked on the hand in Monday's game. Candelario has now started at both corner infield spots and DH through the first five games. That will be the pattern until the Reds get back some injured players. Once outfielder Austin Hays is ready, Gavin Lux, who is filling in for Hays in left field, will be free to play third or DH. There's also the case of Spencer Steer, who is limited to DH until a balky shoulder allows him to play the field (first base, third base or outfield).

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN

Diamondbacks' Eugenio Suarez: Up to five homers

Suarez went 1-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Yankees.

Suarez, who was named the NL Player of the Week for his four home runs the previous week, bailed out the Diamondbacks in the eighth inning when he launched a grand slam to give Arizona the lead. The slugging third baseman now has five hits, all homers, this season. Suarez's 11 RBI are tied for the league lead with Aaron Judge and Kyle Tucker.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: On bench Tuesday

Muncy is absent from Tuesday's lineup against Atlanta.

Muncy has had a rough start to the season and will get some rest Tuesday with lefty Chris Sale on the mound. The third baseman has recorded just two hits through the first six games and has struck out in seven of his 15 plate appearances. Miguel Rojas has the start at third base Tuesday night.

  • Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM

Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Away on paternity leave

The Mariners placed Polanco on the paternity list Tuesday.

Polanco will be allowed to miss up to three games while he spends time with his growing family. Miles Mastrobuoni will cover third base Tuesday, and Leo Rivas will come up from the minors to fill the open roster spot.
