Farmer isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Farmer returned to the lineup Tuesday and went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and a double in the loss to Kansas City. However, he'll get a breather for Wednesday's series finale while Mike Freeman takes over at shortstop and bats ninth.

Machado went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs scored and an RBI in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Nationals.

Machado came around to score all three times he reached base and also delivered a go-ahead RBI single to right-center field in the fifth inning to complement his two doubles. The 28-year-old has had a nice run to end of the first half of the season, slashing .344/.404/.667 with eight homers, 25 RBI, 24 runs scored, three steals and a 12:12 BB:K across 27 games since June 7.

LeMahieu went 3-for-6 with an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 12-1 win over the Mariners.

All three of LeMahieu's hits went for singles and he had all three base knocks before the end of the third inning. The 32-year-old led off the game with a base knock and then came around to score on a three-run blast by Giancarlo Stanton and later drove in a run during the third. LeMahieu has hit safely in 20 of his last 22 games and has raised his slash line to .276/.350/.375 with seven homers, 34 RBI, 46 runs scored, two steals and a 37:55 BB:K over 363 plate appearances.

Sosa went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored Tuesday in a 6-5 win over San Francisco.

Sosa came into the contest without a hit in July, going 0-for-8 through four games. He turned things around with his second three-hit performance of the season. Sosa came through with a solo shot in the eighth inning for what proved to be the difference in the narrow win. The infielder is slashing .255/.335/.340 overall on the campaign.

Arenado went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run, an additional run scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 6-5 victory over the Giants.

The veteran third baseman got St. Louis off to a quick start, slamming a two-run homer in the first inning off Johnny Cueto. He went on to collect two more hits and stole second base in the seventh inning -- his first theft of the season on his first attempt since 2019. The long ball was his first in July and team-leading 17th overall on the campaign.

Segura went 4-for-6 with a double, two RBI and four runs scored in Tuesday's 15-10 win over the Cubs.

The second baseman played the table-setter role quite well Tuesday, and he was brought home each time he got on base. Segura added a two-RBI single in the seventh inning. He's gone 9-for-28 (.321) in seven games since he returned from a groin injury. The 31-year-old is slashing a strong .330/.383/.456 in 235 plate appearances, but he's added only three home runs, 23 RBI, 30 runs scored and six stolen bases.

Farmer went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to Kansas City.

Farmer sat out Monday's game with soreness described as "bumps and bruises" by manager David Bell. The infielder had little trouble at the plate Tuesday, as he launched his seventh homer of the season in the fourth inning. The 30-year-old had his second three-hit effort in the last five games, but he went 0-for-8 in three contests in between. Overall, Farmer is slashing .223/.292/.343 with 28 RBI, 27 runs scored and two stolen bases across 261 plate appearances.

Vosler was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday.

Vosler will return to the majors after spending the past couple weeks at the Triple-A level. The 27-year-old has slashed .222/.276/.463 with three homers, four doubles, seven RBI, 10 runs and two stolen bases over 58 plate appearances in the majors this season.

Rendon was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a left hamstring strain, retroactive to Monday.

The club initially sounded optimistic that Rendon would be able to avoid his third trip to the IL this season after he exited Sunday's game. While he is going on the injured list after all, manager Joe Maddon said that Rendon may have been healthy enough to play later this week, per J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News. With that in mind, the third baseman figures to have a good chance of being activated when the club returns from the All-Star break July 16. Jack Mayfield was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding roster move.

Escobar (quad) is back in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Rockies.

Escobar did not start Saturday or Sunday due to the reemergence of the quad issue, though he was able to pinch hit in both games. He appears to be feeling better, as he'll bat third and man the hot corner Tuesday.
