Newman isn't starting Tuesday's game against Atlanta.

Newman had gone 3-for-24 with a solo home run and two strikeouts across the last six games. He'll get a breather Tuesday while Wilmer Difo starts at shortstop and bats sixth.

Kieboom (knee) was placed on the 7-day minor-league injured list Monday, freelance baseball writer Byron Kerr reports.

Kieboom's knee injury has kept him sidelined since June 29, and it's not yet clear when he'll be able to return to action. His placement on the injured list will clear room on the Triple-A roster for Humberto Arteaga, who was outrighted to Triple-A Rochester as part of a corresponding move.

Castro was recalled to the 26-man roster from Double-A Altoona on Tuesday, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Castro was briefly called up to the majors in mid-April and went hitless in three at-bats before being sent to the club's alternate training site. He was assigned to Double-A when the minor-league season began and remained with Altoona up until Tuesday. Castro will skip Triple-A once again as he rejoins the Pirates, and he should provide infield depth following Phillip Evans' move to the 7-day concussion IL.

Donaldson (hamstring) is not starting Tuesday's game against the White Sox.

There's yet to be any update from the Twins, but it's growing increasingly likely that Donaldson gets placed on the injured list, as right hamstring soreness has now sidelined him for a third consecutive game. Leadoff hitter Luis Arraez once again gets the nod at third base Tuesday.

Farmer (soreness) is starting Tuesday's game against the Royals.

Farmer was held out of Monday's lineup with what manager David Bell called some "bumps and bruises," but he'll start at shortstop and bat eighth Tuesday. The 30-year-old has gone 0-for-8 with two runs and three strikeouts across his last three appearances.

Hayes went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Monday's 11-1 rout of Atlanta.

The third baseman took Josh Tomlin deep in the eighth inning for the Pirates' final offense of the night. Hayes hadn't gone yard since June 11, slashing .206/.295/.250 over his 20-game power drought, and the 24-year-old is batting .252 with four homers, two steals, 17 runs and 17 RBI through 31 contests on the season.

Devers went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and three RBI during Monday's 5-4 win over the Angels.

Devers delivered an RBI single his first time up and then swatted a two-run shot in the fourth to put Boston up 4-1. The 24-year-old already has three multi-hit games in July and continues to look more and more like the breakout player from 2019. For the year, Devers is slashing .290/.357/.581 with 21 homers, 71 RBI, 58 runs scored, three steals and a 29:82 BB:K over 347 at-bats. He was recently named a starter for his first career All-Star Game.

Moncada went 1-for-5 with a triple and two RBI in Monday's 8-5 loss to Minnesota.

Making his return from a three-game absence due to a hand injury, Moncada hit a seventh-inning triple that plated two and brought the White Sox within one run before Ryan Burr permitted a pair of Twins to score in the eighth. Moncada's return moved Jake Burger to a bench role.

Suarez went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Monday's 6-2 win over Kansas City.

Suarez went deep in the seventh inning to give Cincinnati all it needed in the win. He also hit into a double play in the second inning that allowed Tyler Stephenson to score the opening run. Suarez has hit safely in four straight games in July, but he still has a meager .178/.260/.377 slash line in 334 plate appearances this season. He's added 17 homers, 48 RBI and 39 runs scored as a near-everyday player despite his career-worst ratios.

Ramirez went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, one RBI and two steals in Monday's 9-8 loss to Tampa Bay.

Ramirez returned to Cleveland's lineup after missing a few games with an elbow issue and didn't skip a beat. He hadn't stolen a base since swiping a pair May 19 and is now up to eight on the year. The 28-year-old infielder is 8-for-20 (.400) with seven runs scored and five extra-base hits over his last six appearances. Ramirez improved his slash line to .268/.349/.536.
