  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN

Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Returning to Seattle

The Mariners acquired Suarez from the Diamondbacks on Wednesday in exchange for first baseman Tyler Locklear and right-handers Juan Burgos and Hunter Cranton, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

After slashing .248/.321/.577 with 36 home runs through 105 games with the Diamondbacks this season, Suarez will return to Seattle, where he spent the 2022 and 2023 season. Suarez will replace Ben Williamson as the club's third baseman and is likely to bat in the heart of the order, giving the Mariners a much-needed power bat as the team looks to make a push for a playoff spot over the final two months of the season.

  • Blaze Jordan 3B | STL

Cardinals' Blaze Jordan: Sent to St. Louis in Matz deal

The Cardinals acquired Jordan from the Red Sox on Wednesday exchange for left-hander Steven Matz, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Since being promoted to Triple-A Worcester in early June, Jordan has slashed .289/.333/.476 with six home runs. 24 RBI and 29 runs scored through 177 plate appearances. The 22-year-old corner infielder's performance could put him in the running for a promotion once major-league rosters expand in September, though he would need to be placed on the Cardinals' 40-man roster before earning his first taste of the big leagues.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Astros' Ramon Urias: Moved to Houston

The Astros acquired Urias from the Orioles on Wednesday in exchange for right-handed pitcher Twine Palmer, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

With Isaac Paredes (hamstring) likely to miss the remainder of the season, the Astros will bring in Urias to replenish their depth in the infield. The 31-year-old is batting .248 with a .688 OPS on the season -- both of which are the lowest marks of his career -- but his ability to fill in at third or second base could help him crack the starting nine on a somewhat consistent basis while Houston navigates a plethora of injuries.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Productive in victory

Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Wednesday's 5-0 win over the Rockies.

Ramirez picked up multiple hits for the eighth time in the month of July, and he's now logged at least one hit in nine of his last 10 games. The All-Star third baseman continues to act as the engine for the Guardians' offense in 2025 -- Ramirez is slashing a potent .310/.391/.545 with 34 extra-base hits, 42 RBI, 55 runs scored and 25 stolen bases across 330 plate appearances since the start of May.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Reaches double-digit steals in win

Machado went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 5-0 win over the Mets.

Machado opened the scoring with a two-run single in the second inning and followed it up by swiping his 10th bag of the year. The 33-year-old has been red hot during an eight-game hitting streak, piling up seven multi-hit efforts, six extra-base hits, 11 RBI, four runs and two stolen bases. For the year, he's slashing .302/.362/.510 with 20 home runs, 71 RBI, 64 runs scored and the aforementioned 10 steals across 467 plate appearances.

  • Luis Guillorme 3B | HOU

Astros' Luis Guillorme: Back with Houston

The Astros re-signed Guillorme to a minor-league contract Wednesday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

The veteran infielder elected free agency earlier in the week after being outrighted by Houston, but he's back in the organization on a new deal. After being called up by the Astros in mid-June, Guillorme went 3-for-20 in 12 games before going down with a hamstring injury a few weeks later.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

Angels' Yoan Moncada: In Wednesday's lineup

Moncada (hand) will start at third base and bat sixth Wednesday against the Rangers, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Moncada missed three consecutive starts after getting hit on his right hand by a pitch Saturday, though he entered Tuesday's game off the bench and went 1-for-2 with two RBI and a run scored. He'll now rejoin the starting nine for Wednesday's series finale and aim to turn things around after going 3-for-19 at the plate to begin the second half.

  • Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN

Reds' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Shipped to Cincinnati

The Reds acquired Hayes from the Pirates on Wednesday in exchange for shortstop Sammy Stafura, left-hander Taylor Rogers and cash considerations, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Hayes will greatly improve Cincinnati's defense at third base, as he is arguably the best defender in the game at the hot corner. The 28-year-old's offense is a much bigger question, as he's slashing only .236/.279/.290 with two home runs in 100 games this season and has an underwhelming .254/.307/.369 batting line in his career. Hayes should benefit from a major park upgrade in going from PNC Park to Great American Ball Park.

  • Brady House 3B | WAS

    Nationals' Brady House: Idle Wednesday

House is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.

House will sit for the second time in four days as the Nationals go with Paul DeJong at third base. Since coming out of the All-Star break with a five-game hitting streak, House has fallen into a lull at the plate, going 1-for-15 with seven strikeouts over his ensuing four contests.

  • Vidal Brujan 2B | NYM

Cubs' Vidal Brujan: Booted from 40-man roster

The Cubs designated Brujan for assignment Wednesday, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Brujan never found his niche with the Cubs, slashing only .222/.234/.289 in 36 games while playing sparingly. His versatility could make him an interesting waiver pickup for other teams, but a career .192/.259/.271 batting line over parts of five seasons in the majors suggests that expectations should be low.
