Candelario was removed from Wednesday's lineup against the Guardians due to a non-COVID illness, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Although Candelario was removed from the starting nine ahead of Wednesday's matchup, he'll be available off the bench if needed and will travel back to Detroit with the team following the game. He should be considered day-to-day for now.

Escobar was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a strained left oblique, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

The veteran third baseman was unable to get past the oblique injury this week and will now be unavailable for at least the next week and a half. Luis Guillorme (groin) is also on the IL, and prospect Brett Baty was promoted to the majors and should take over as New York's primary third baseman for the time being. It's unclear how long Escobar is expected to be sidelined, but he may be in line for a reduced role once healthy.

Paredes is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The righty-hitting Paredes should be a fixture in the Tampa Bay lineup versus lefty pitching moving forward, but his opportunities against right-handers are expected to take a hit after Tampa Bay brought Harold Ramirez back from the injured list Tuesday. Paredes is on the bench Wednesday for the third time in the past six contests.

The Mets selected Baty's contract from Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday. He'll start at third base and bat eighth in his MLB debut Wednesday in Atlanta, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Expect the 22-year-old to get an extended look as the Mets' everyday third baseman while both Luis Guillorme (groin) and Eduardo Escobar (oblique) are on the shelf. The lefty-hitting Baty has only six games of experience above the Double-A level, but he shined across stops at the Mets' top two minor-league affiliates this season, slashing a collective .315/.410/.533 with a 24.8 percent strikeout rate and 11.6 percent walk rate. Baty could be an appealing speculative pickup in deeper mixed leagues for managers looking for an infusion of power from a corner-infield spot.

Candelario was scratched from Wednesday's lineup against the Guardians for an undisclosed reason.

It's not yet clear whether Candelario's removal from the lineup was due to an injury, but Kody Clemens will start at the hot corner and bat eighth. Whether Candelario is available off the bench remains to be seen.

LeMahieu (toe) said he'll remain out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays, but he's available off the bench and will avoid a stint on the injured list, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports.

The Yankees are expected to announce multiple roster moves prior to Wednesday's contest, but LeMahieu apparently won't be deactivated to clear a spot for one of the new arrivals. He's seemingly made strides in his recovery from the right big toe inflammation that has kept him out of the lineup since Sunday, and if he incurs no setbacks in the next 24 hours, he said he expects to re-enter the starting nine for Thursday's series finale.

Baty joined the Mets on Wednesday and is expected to be formally called up from Triple-A Syracuse ahead of the team's game in Atlanta, SNY.tv reports.

With Eduardo Escobar (oblique) in line to join Luis Guillorme (groin) on the 10-day injured list, the 22-year-old Baty should immediately settle in as the Mets' everyday third baseman. Whether he retains the gig when Guillorme and Escobar are likely back to full health at some point in September will likely be determined by how well Baty performs over the next few weeks in his first taste of the big leagues. Baty showed an advanced approach at the plate between stops at Syracuse and Double-A Binghamton this season, slashing .315/.410/.533 while striking out at a 24.8 percent rate and walking at an 11.6 percent clip across 420 plate appearances.

Urias went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Blue Jays.

The multi-hit effort was Urias' first since July 25, ending a 19-game stretched in which he batted just .164. Despite the extended slump, Urias doesn't appear to have lost hold of his near-everyday role at third base. He'll man the hot corner and bat fifth in Wednesday's series finale in Toronto, according to Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com.

Madrigal isn't starting Wednesday against Washington.

Madrigal is resting during Wednesday's series finale after he went 1-for-9 with a double, a run and a strikeout over the last two games. Zach McKinstry will shift to the keystone while P.J. Higgins enters the lineup at first base.

Senzel (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.

Senzel will end up missing the entire three-game series with the Phillies, but with a team off day on tap Thursday, the Reds are seemingly hopeful that he'll be ready to go for the three-game set in Pittsburgh this weekend. Albert Almora will draw another start in center field Wednesday in Senzel's stead.
