Newman isn't starting Monday against the Cubs.

Newman started the last three games and went 1-for-11 with a double, a run, two walks and three strikeouts. Josh VanMeter is shifting to the keystone while Michael Chavis starts at first base.

Bride (shoulder) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Monday.

Bride spent nearly a month on the injured list due to his shoulder injury, but he'll rejoin the active roster after spending a week and a half in the minors on a rehab assignment. He hit .318 with a homer, a double, four runs and three RBI over seven rehab games and should see plenty of playing time at third base now that he's back to full health. However, he isn't starting Monday against the Astros.

Phillies interim manager Rob Thomson said Segura (finger) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Lehigh Valley, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Segura is coming along quicker than expected in his recovery from his early June surgery to repair a fractured right index finger, a procedure that was expected to keep him sidelined for 10-to-12 weeks. Though initial projections called for Segura to remain out until mid-August or early September, he now looks like he could be ready to go when first eligible to return from the 60-day injured list Aug. 2. The Phillies will wait and see how Segura looks during his rehab stint at Lehigh Valley over the next few days before re-evaluating his situation early next week.

Paredes isn't in the lineup Monday against the Orioles, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Paredes went 0-for-4 with a strikeout during Sunday's loss to the Rays and is out of the lineup for the second time in the last three games. Ji-Man Choi is starting at first base while Luke Raley serves as the designated hitter.

Moustakas is not in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener versus the Marlins.

Moustakas will take a seat after he went 1-for-3 with a walk and run scored in Sunday's win over the Cardinals. Jonathan India will take over at designated hitter while Donovan Solano slots in at second base and bats sixth against Miami.

Bride (shoulder) went 3-for-12 with two walks and two runs in three games for Single-A Stockton against Fresno over the weekend.

Bride has now appeared in seven rehab games overall and played a full nine innings at third base in two of the three weekend contests with the Ports, seemingly indicating he'd be ready for activation. Given he's been eligible to come off the IL since earlier in July, it's certainly possible Bride is reinstated to the active roster ahead of Monday night's series opener against the Astros.

Henderson has hit .268/.386/.496 with six home runs, three steals and a 22:38 BB:K in 35 games since being promoted to Triple-A Norfolk.

He's been unable to sustain his tremendous plate-discipline numbers from Double-A, where Henderson put up a spectacular 41:38 BB:K through 47 games to open 2022. His strikeout rate has spiked by 6.5 percent (to 24.8) and his walk rate has dipped by 5.9 percent (to 14.8) since his promotion, but those are still acceptable figures for a 21-year-old on the doorstep of the majors. Henderson opened his time with Norfolk by putting up a 1.077 OPS with five home runs through his first 19 games, then went 4-for-33 with 15 strikeouts over his next nine games before recovering more recently, putting together a seven-game hitting streak that includes a homer Sunday -- his first since June 28. If he can get a little more consistent, a second-half call-up could very well be in the cards.

Chapman went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored in Sunday's 8-4 victory over the Red Sox.

Chapman scored on a Raimel Tapia triple in the first inning, then again on a Danny Jansen groundout in the fifth. He also picked up two hits in the game, his fourth multi-hit performance in his last six games. Chapman has gone 11-for-24 during that stretch, raising his batting average from .226 to .237. The third baseman is batting .288 in July after batting .223 from April through June.

Machado went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 8-5 loss to the Mets.

Machado picked up his first multi-hit effort since July 14, which included an RBI double that sparked a three-run rally in the ninth inning. He's up to 20 two-baggers this season, reaching that mark for the seventh time in the last eight years -- the 60-game 2020 season being the lone exception. The third baseman is slashing .303/.376/.517 with 16 home runs, 54 RBI, 58 runs scored and seven stolen bases in 86 contests as a steady presence in the heart of the Padres' order.

Toro went 1-for-1 with a two-run home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Sunday's 8-5 loss to the Astros.

Toro entered the game when outfielder Jesse Winker (ankle) exited the contest following a collision on the field. Toro was part of the Mariners' two bursts of offense in the seventh and eighth innings, including a homer in his second plate appearance of the day. The 25-year-old infielder has seen limited playing time lately -- his last start was last Saturday. He owns an uninspiring .179/.242/.329 slash line with eight homers, 24 RBI, 29 runs scored and a stolen base in 76 contests. Even if Winker has to miss extra time, his absence will likely be covered by Adam Frazier and Dylan Moore.
