    Suarez has four hits over his last four games, all of which have left the yard. The four-game homer streak is the longest of Suarez's career and he's up to 23 home runs and a National League-leading 78 RBI. The 27-year-old owns a terrific .974 OPS in 376 plate appearances.

    Machado went 1-for-4 with a solo homer and a walk in the 8-2 win over Atlanta on Thursday.

    Machado went yard for the first time in his seventh game as a Dodger. The 26-year-old infielder is up to 25 home runs, 67 RBI and a .951 OPS in 449 total plate appearances this season.

    Nationals' Matt Reynolds: Recalled by Nationals

    The Nationals recalled Reynolds from Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday, Jorge Castillo of The Washington Post reports.

    Reynolds will take the spot vacated by Anthony Rendon's placement on the paternity list. Rendon should rejoin the big club in just a few days, at which point Reynolds will likely head back to the minors.

    Giants' Evan Longoria: Activated from disabled list

    The Giants activated Longoria (hand, triceps) from the 10-day disabled list Thursday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

    Longoria is ready to rejoin the Giants after playing four rehab games with Triple-A Sacramento. Expect him to resume his role as the Giants' regular third baseman moving forward.

    Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Lands on paternity list

    Rendon was put on the paternity list prior to Thursday's game in Miami, Jorge Castillo of The Washington Post reports.

    Rendon will be away from the team for Thursday's series opener and could miss up to three games while he's with his family. The Nationals will make a corresponding move in the coming hours. Look for Mark Reynolds or Wilmer Difo to man third base in his stead.

    Dodgers' Max Muncy: Slugs 24th homer

    Muncy went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Wednesday's 7-3 loss to the Phillies.

    The 27-year-old continues to rake, and Muncy's now hitting .289 (22-for-76) in July with seven homers and 12 RBI in 20 games. Muncy's 24 big-league homers this year are already more than he hit in the last two seasons combined over 225 games between Triple-A and the majors.

    Phillies' Mitch Walding: Shipped to minors

    Walding was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley prior to Wednesday's matchup with the Dodgers, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

    Walding is 0-for-10 through 10 games in the major leagues this season after multiple stints with the big club. He'll head to the minors so Philadelphia can make room on the roster for another arm following a 16-inning contest with the Dodgers on Tuesday.

    Phillies' Trevor Plouffe: Hits walkoff home run

    Plouffe was 1-for-3 with a walkoff three-run home run during the 16th inning to lift the Phillies over the Dodgers on Tuesday.

    Plouffe entered the game in the 12th inning and had the good fortune to bat with runners on first and second with position player Enrique Hernandez on the mound for Los Angeles. The 32-year-old has seen minimal opportunities -- two starts and 11 plate appearances -- since having his contract selected by the Phillies on July 10, but he made his presence known Tuesday. Plouffe is now 3-for-11 with a home run, three RBI and five strikeouts on the season.

    Marlins' Brian Anderson: Scores three runs

    Anderson went 3-for-3 with three runs scored in Tuesday's 9-3 win over Atlanta.

    Anderson, who also reached base via a hit by pitch, broke out of a 1-for-15 slump over the last four games prior to Tuesday. The 25-year-old has a .285/.365/.419 slash line with eight home runs and 49 RBI in 102 games this season.

    Giants' Evan Longoria: Resuming rehab assignment

    Longoria (hand, triceps) is likely to resume his minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic Bay Area reports.

    Longoria was hit by a pitch in the left triceps Sunday, and although he was able to remain in the game, the Giants will give him another game or two with the River Cats. The veteran third baseman did not play in Tuesday's game but expects to return to the lineup Wednesday. The 32-year-old appears on track to return as the Giants host the Brewers this weekend.
