Edmundo Sosa LF | PHI
Cardinals' Edmundo Sosa: Gets call to majors
Sosa was recalled from Triple-A Memphis on Monday.
Sosa gets the call-up from the Redbirds following a season during which he slashed .291/.335/.466 with 40 extra-base hits (18 doubles, five triples, 17 home runs) and 62 RBI across 496 plate appearances. It's Sosa's second major-league stint of 2019, as he was up for three games earlier in the season and notched a single over three plate appearances. The 23-year-old shortstop will serve as depth behind Paul DeJong for the balance of the regular season.

Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA
Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Continues multi-hit surge
Rendon went 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk, two RBI and two runs Sunday in the Nationals' 9-3 win over the Marlins.
Rendon is currently enjoying one of his hottest offensive stretches of the season, as he'll enter Monday's series opener versus the Mets with four consecutive multi-hit performances on his ledger. The third baseman -- who will bat third Monday -- will also carry a 17-game on-base streak into the contest. During that stretch, Rendon has slashed .449/.512/.855 with seven home runs, 18 runs and 21 RBI.

Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL
Reds' Kyle Farmer: Starting at third base
Farmer is starting at third base in place of Eugenio Suarez on Monday, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Suarez got hit on the left hand by a pitch Sunday night and is still waiting for the swelling to go down so that the team can take X-rays.

Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN
Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Not starting Monday
Suarez (hand) is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Phillies, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. The quote from Suarez after the game was ominous: "I don't feel good about this, but I understand this is baseball," Suarez said. "This is how they pitched me. He got me on my hand. I just want to say put everything on God and see if I'm back this year."
After connecting on his 40th home run of the season in the first half of Sunday's doubleheader with the Cardinals, Suarez was in the lineup again for the nightcap, but his start ended early when he was struck in the back of the left hand with a pitch. Suarez will be sent in for X-rays later Monday, as soon as the swelling on his hand goes down. Kyle Farmer is starting in his place at third base in the series opener.

Evan Longoria 3B | ARI
Giants' Evan Longoria: Cranks 18th homer
Longoria went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 8-4 loss to San Diego.
Longoria finished off his torrid month of August (.345/.372/.529) with a bang, going yard for the 18th time this season. The 33-year-old has turned back the clock recently, recording a hit in 21 of his last 23 contests. Longoria's overall line still sits at a pedestrian .266/.331/.466 on the year, but he is clearly locked into a prolonged hot streak that warrants attention from fantasy owners in almost any format until he cools back down.

Nick Senzel 3B | LAD
Reds' Nick Senzel: Blasts 12th homer
Senzel went 1-for-7 with a solo home run and a walk in a doubleheader split against the Cardinals on Sunday.
Senzel was shut down in Game 1 but made his only hit of the twin bill count in Game 2, smashing a 422-foot homer to left field in the fifth inning to knot the score at three. The rookie has put together a promising but unspectacular first season, slashing .255/.316/.429 with 12 homers, 42 RBI and 14 steals in 99 games.

Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN
Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Leaves game after HBP
Suarez left the second game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Cardinals after being hit by a pitch on the back of his left hand, Bobby Nightengale of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Suarez hit his 40th home run of the season in the matinee. Hopefully he'll have a chance to build on that number. After being plunked by a 93 mph fastball, Suarez was in visible pain and slammed his helmet as he began walking down the dugout steps. He will be examined in Cincinnati on Monday, per Nightengale.

J.D. Davis 1B | LAA
Mets' J.D. Davis: Not starting Sunday
Davis is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
Davis started the last 11 games and will head to the bench after posting a .768 OPS in that stretch. Jeff McNeil, Juan Lagares and Michael Conforto will start in the outfield from left to right Sunday.

Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Phillies' Jean Segura: Scratched due to personal matter
Segura was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets after receiving news regarding the death of his grandmother, Bob Brookover of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Segura is apparently en route to the Dominican Republic to spend time with his grieving family, so the Phillies could end up placing him on the bereavement list Monday with the expectation that he'll miss multiple games. The Phillies added Brad Miller to Sunday's lineup in place of Segura, with Scott Kingery shifting over from third base to shortstop as a result.

Kevin Newman 3B | LAA
Pirates' Kevin Newman: Not starting Sunday
Newman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Colorado.
Newman has a 1.450 OPS with 13 runs scored, three home runs and 10 RBI in his last eight games, but he'll take a seat in the series finale. Erik Gonzalez will start at shortstop and bat eighth in his absence.
