Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Reds' Mike Moustakas: Lands on IL with bruised heel
The Reds placed Moustakas on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a right heel contusion.
Moustakas had been out of the lineup for the last five games with the heel injury and apparently wasn't progressing as quickly as expected, so the Reds will shut him down for another week with the hope the extra rest helps resolve the issue. Infielder Max Schrock was recalled from Triple-A Louisville in a corresponding move, but Moustakas' absence should continue to open up regular starts for Kyle Farmer at either shortstop or third base.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Notches first steal
Muncy went 2-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch, a stolen base and a run in a 4-2 victory over the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.
Muncy has been an on-base machine this season, registering a .443 on-base percentage (second in MLB) thanks in large part to a league-leading 38 walks. His stolen base Wednesday was a nice surprise for fantasy managers who roster him, as it was only his second successful swipe since 2019.

Eduardo Escobar 3B | TOR
Diamondbacks' Eduardo Escobar: Launches 10th homer
Escobar went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's loss to the Dodgers.
Escobar got to Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw in the fourth inning, tagging the left-hander for a two-run shot to center field. The long ball was his 10th this season, placing him in a tie for fourth place in the National League. Despite the power output, Escobar is batting only .217 on the campaign.

Brian Anderson RF | ATL
Marlins' Brian Anderson: Launches solo shot
Anderson went 1-for-4 with a home run in Wednesday's win over the Phillies.
Anderson is only hitting .216 with a meager .605 OPS this season, but he made his presence felt with his third homer of the campaign. The third baseman seems to be turning things around following a slow start to the season and has hit safely in five of his last six contests.

Matt Duffy 3B | TEX
Cubs' Matt Duffy: Takes seat Wednesday
Duffy is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.
David Bote will step in at third base in place of Duffy, who has emerged as a regular at the position while Kris Bryant has taken on more work in the outfield over the past few weeks. Duffy had started in each of the Cubs' previous eight games, going 8-for-33 with a home run, a double, five RBI and five runs over that stretch.

Nick Maton DH | CHW
Phillies' Nick Maton: Day off Wednesday
Maton isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Marlins.
Maton will get a breather after he went 6-for-12 with two home runs, five RBI and four runs in the last three games. Ronald Torreyes will start at shortstop and bat eighth.
-
Edmundo Sosa 3B | PHI
Cardinals' Edmundo Sosa: Productive in start
Sosa went 2-for-4 with an RBI double and a run in a win over the Pirates on Tuesday.
Sosa's third-inning two-bagger brought home Nolan Arenado to close out the scoring on the day for the Cardinals and also served as his first extra-base hit of the season. The 25-year-old only has 23 plate appearances in 2021, but Paul DeJong's (ribs) current stint on the injured list should continue affording Sosa some semi-regular playing time for the moment.

Nick Senzel 3B | LAD
Reds' Nick Senzel: Still sidelined Wednesday
Senzel (knee) isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants.
Senzel will be out of the lineup for a second straight game due to knee soreness. However, manager David Bell said that Senzel could be available off the bench Wednesday, and he's hopeful that he'll be back in the lineup Thursday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Jonathan India will start at second base and bat eighth.

Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Reds' Mike Moustakas: Remains out of lineup
Moustakas (heel) isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Giants.
Moustakas will be out of the lineup for a fifth straight contest as he continues to deal with a heel injury, but he's served as a pinch hitter in each of the last two games. He could be available off the bench once again Wednesday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Eugenio Suarez will shift to third base while Kyle Farmer starts at shortstop.

Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Homers in fourth straight
Arenado went 2-for-3 with a walk, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Pirates.
He kick-started the Cards' offense with a first-inning blast off JT Brubaker. Arenado has gone yard in four straight games, giving him 10 homers on the season along with a .307/.362/.583 line that is right on pace with the numbers from his Rockies days.
