  • Matt Duffy 3B | TEX

Cubs' Matt Duffy: Continues hitting streak

Duffy went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Pirates.

Duffy has collected a hit in eight straight games, and he's batting a robust .400 during the streak. The versatile infielder is seeing regular playing time and has bumped his season-long batting average up to .278 with the strong run lately. Duffy doesn't offer a ton of pop, but fantasy managers can still find some value from the 30-year-old while he's locked in at the plate.

  • Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN

Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Not starting Tuesday

Hayes isn't starting Tuesday's game against the Cubs.

Hayes has gone 2-for-10 with a double, two RBI, a run and a strikeout across his last three appearances, and he'll be out of the lineup for the second time in the last three games. Hoy Park will start at the hot corner and bat eighth.

  • Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW

Reds' Mike Moustakas: Won't return this year

Moustakas (foot) has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Moustakas landed on the 10-day IL with right foot plantar fasciitis last week and would have been eligible to return during the final series of the regular season, but manager David Bell said Tuesday that none of the Reds on the injured list will return this year. The 33-year-old appeared in just 62 games while battling injuries in 2021, and he slashed .208/.282/.372 with six home runs, 22 RBI and 21 runs.

  • Brewers' Eduardo Escobar: Day off Tuesday

Escobar isn't starting Tuesday's game against St. Louis.

Escobar will head to the bench after he went 2-for-6 with a run, a walk and two strikeouts across the last two games. Jace Peterson will shift to the hot corner while Daniel Vogelbach starts at first base.

  • Edmundo Sosa LF | PHI

    Cardinals' Edmundo Sosa: Still sidelined

Sosa (wrist) remains on the bench Tuesday against the Brewers, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Sosa will sit for the fourth straight game after he was hit in the wrist by a pitch Friday against the Cubs. He hasn't appeared off the bench in any of the three previous games, and it's unclear if he'll be available in that capacity Tuesday. However, he played catch on the field ahead of Tuesday's matchup, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Paul DeJong remains the starter at shortstop.

  • Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA

Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Not starting Tuesday

Wisdom (wrist) isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates.

Wisdom was scratched from Sunday's lineup due to right wrist soreness, and he'll be out of the starting nine for a second straight game. Matt Duffy will shift to third base while David Bote starts at the keystone.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Drives in three runs

McMahon went 1-for-4 with a three-run double, a steal and a walk in Monday's 5-4 loss to Washington.

The Rockies were being shut out through five innings before McMahon cleared the bases with a three-run double in the sixth. He drew a walk in the fourth and swiped his sixth bag of the year. The 26-year-old infielder owns an .802 OPS with 13 RBI this month, raising his season slash line to .254/.333/.448.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Reaches base four times in loss

Machado went 1-for-2 with three walks and an RBI in Sunday's 4-3 loss to Atlanta.

The slumping Padres head into the final week of the regular season already eliminated from postseason contention, but Machado hasn't faded down the stretch for fantasy managers. Over a stretch of 11 games since Sept. 15, Machado has slashed .349/.391/.628 with three home runs, 11 RBI and eight runs.

  • Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN

Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Extends hitting streak

Suarez went 1-for-5 with a double and three strikeouts in Sunday's 9-2 win over the Nationals.

Suarez's two-bagger allowed him to extend his hitting streak to six games, tying his longest stretch of the season. With Mike Moustakas (foot) on the injured list, Suarez is poised to play regularly at third base during the final week of the season, perhaps making him an attractive pickup in leagues where fantasy managers may have dropped him during what's been a rough campaign for the 30-year-old. Suarez owns a meager .678 OPs on the season, but he's slashing .400/.444/.760 with five extra-base knocks during his ongoing hitting streak.

  • Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN

Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Makes impact off bench

Hayes went 2-for-2 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 6-0 win over Philadelphia.

Hayes didn't start Sunday's contest, but he was one of two Pirates to end with multiple hits. He knocked in a pair of runs with a seventh-inning double, and he also scored on a balk in the ninth. The third baseman has posted eight multi-hit efforts in 18 games in September, and he's now slashing .260/.319/.377 through 392 plate appearances overall.
