  • Cam Collier 3B | CIN

Reds' Cam Collier: Complex League season complete

Collier hit .370/.514/.630 with two homers in 35 plate appearances for the Reds' Arizona Complex League team, with their season ending last week, C.Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Collier, the Reds' first-round draft pick in the 2022 draft, had a reputation for a good batting eye and followed that up in his professional debut by having more walks than strikeouts. He doesn't turn 18 until November, so Collier should be one of the youngest hitters in full-season ball in 2023.

  • Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN

Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Expects to play Monday

Hayes (shoulder) took swings in the batting cage Sunday and expects to return to the lineup for Monday's series opener with the Mets, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Hayes has been on the bench for the Pirates' last two games with left shoulder soreness, but the issue doesn't look like it'll be a long-term concern. The 25-year-old indicated he was unsure if he'll be ready to play third base Monday, but he's able to serve as a designated hitter until he's cleared to return to the infield.

  • Matt Reynolds 3B | CIN

Reds' Matt Reynolds: Begins rehab assignment

Reynolds (hip) started at shortstop and went 0-for-3 in the first game of his rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Sunday.

Reynolds played five innings before exiting the contest, so he'll presumably need to play at least one full game in the minors before the Reds are comfortable bringing him back from the 10-day injured list. Once he's reinstated, Reynolds will likely fill a utility role for Cincinnati.

  • Nick Senzel 3B | LAD

Reds' Nick Senzel: Two steals in twin bill

Senzel went 2-for-6 with a double, two walks, two stolen bases, one RBI and two runs scored across both games of Sunday's doubleheader versus the Rockies.

Senzel was the starting center fielder in both contests and made an impact with his legs in each game. He was a bit more productive in the second game, where he had both of his hits and runs as well as his RBI. The outfielder has three multi-hit efforts in his last 11 contests. For the season, the 27-year-old is slashing .242/.306/.314 with four home runs, eight steals, 24 RBI and 41 runs scored through 97 games.

  • Jace Peterson SS | ARI

Brewers' Jace Peterson: Takes seat Sunday

Peterson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

With starts at third base in six of the previous seven contests, Peterson appears to have at least temporarily supplanted Luis Urias as the preferred option at the position. However, after striking out three times in Saturday's 8-6 win, Peterson will cede the hot corner to Urias in the series finale.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Giants' Evan Longoria: Sitting in second straight

Longoria is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

The righty-hitting Longoria will be on the bench for the second straight game, even with the Giants facing a southpaw (Ranger Suarez) in the series finale. Given that the Giants enter Sunday's contest with a 63-68 record in addition to the fact that Longoria has been on the injured list multiple times in 2022, it's possible the 36-year-old moves into more of a part-time role in the final month of the season.

  • Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA

Cubs' Nick Madrigal: Heads to bench Sunday

Madrigal is out of the lineup for Sunday's game in St. Louis.

Madrigal will get a breather for the series finale while Zach McKinstry gets at turn at second base and as the Cubs' leadoff man. Over his past six games, Madrigal went 8-for-25 at the plate, but he produced no home runs, runs, RBI or steals during that stretch.

  • Kevin Newman 3B | LAA

Pirates' Kevin Newman: Losing work to Castro, Marcano

Newman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

Newman looks to be moving into more of a part-time role as the season winds down, as he'll take a seat for the third time in six games despite not having dealt with an injury during that stretch. Tucupita Marcano will fill in at the keystone Sunday, but Rodolfo Castro may end up being the Pirates' primary option at the position once third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes shakes off his shoulder injury.

  • Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN

Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Sits again due to shoulder

Hayes (shoulder) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

Hayes will be relegated to the bench for the second game in a row while he contends with left shoulder discomfort. Rodolfo Castro will pick up another start at third base in place of Hayes, who can be viewed as day-to-day heading into Monday's series opener with the Mets.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Resting against lefty

McMahon is out of the lineup for the first game of Sunday's doubleheader with the Reds.

Elehuris Montero will step in at third base for the early game while the lefty-hitting McMahon retreats to the bench against Reds southpaw Nick Lodolo. Expect McMahon to re-enter the starting nine for the nightcap, when right-hander Chase Anderson will take the hill for Cincinnati.
