Kevin Newman 3B | LAA
Reds' Kevin Newman: Makes first appearance off IL
Newman served as a pinch hitter and knocked in a run with a sacrifice fly in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Dodgers.
Newman pinch hit for Jake Fraley against left-hander Caleb Ferguson and knocked in Elly De La Cruz for the first Cincinnati run. Newman was activated off the injured list last Monday but hadn't appeared in a game since. He's normally in the lineup against southpaws, but the Reds haven't seen a lefty starter since he rejoined the active roster.

Nick Senzel 3B | LAD
Reds' Nick Senzel: Replaces India in lineup
Senzel was a late addition to the starting lineup in left field and went 0-for-2 in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Dodgers.
Senzel was added to the lineup after Jonathan India (heel) was scratched. Spencer Steer was slated to start in left, but he was moved to third base as part of a lineup reshuffle to accommodate India's absence. The Reds await results of an MRI on India's injury, which could impact Senzel's usage.

Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA
Cubs' Nick Madrigal: Doubles, scores in return
Madrigal (hamstring) went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Saturday's win over the Cardinals.
Madrigal returned to the lineup after missing a little more than three weeks with a hamstring strain. He started at third and batted ninth in his first game back. Madrigal and Patrick Wisdom should compete for time at the hot corner moving forward, with the former a better contact hitter but the latter providing more power potential. Madrigal could have some sneaky fantasy value if he takes over on a more regular basis.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Powers offense in win
Muncy went 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBI in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Reds.
The Dodgers had just two hits Saturday, with Muncy sending them both over the fence against Reds right-hander Luke Weaver. This snapped an 0-for-9 skid for Muncy, who has homered six times over his last nine games. The infielder is up to 27 long balls, 70 RBI, 60 runs scored, one stolen base and eight doubles while slashing .199/.331/.495 through 86 contests.

Giants' J.D. Davis: Delivers walk-off homer
Davis went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's win over the Red Sox.
Davis hammered his 14th long ball of 2023 Saturday, going yard off Kenley Jansen in the bottom of the ninth for a walk-off. The homer marked Davis' second in three games, while the overall effort marked his first multi-hit contest since July 4. Across his last 15 appearances, Davis is hitting 8-for-48 (.167) with seven RBI and six runs scored.

Emmanuel Rivera 3B | BAL
Diamondbacks' Emmanuel Rivera: Not starting Saturday
Rivera isn't in the Diamondbacks' lineup Saturday against Seattle.
Rivera will get a breather Saturday after putting together a four-game hitting streak and going 6-for-17 with a homer and three runs scored in that span. Josh Rojas will start at the hot corner in Rivera's place and bat seventh.

Evan Longoria 3B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Evan Longoria: Placed on IL
The Diamondbacks placed Longoria on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a strained lower back, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Manager Torey Lovullo noted he doesn't expect Longoria to be on the IL longer than the minimum 10 days, so it doesn't seem like the back injury is too severe. Josh Rojas will come up from Triple-A Reno to take Longoria's roster spot.

Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA
Cubs' Nick Madrigal: Reinstated from IL
The Cubs reinstated Madrigal (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Saturday, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.
Madrigal landed on the injured list July 4 with a strained right hamstring and will now return to Chicago after a five-game rehab assignment. The 26-year-old infielder went 5-for-18 with four runs scored during his rehab assignment and figures to return as the Cubs' primary third baseman. Miles Mastrobuoni was optioned to Triple-A Iowa in a corresponding move.

Braves' Austin Riley: Power surge picks back up
Riley went 2-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's 10-7 win over the Brewers.
The third baseman took former teammate Bryse Wilson deep in the seventh inning, giving Riley his seventh homer in the last nine games.
