J.D. Davis 1B | LAA
Giants' J.D. Davis: Sitting again Tuesday
Davis remains out of the lineup Tuesday versus the Rays.
Davis also started Monday's series opener on the bench, but he came on as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning and finished the game at first base. There wouldn't seem to be anything wrong with him physically. LaMonte Wade will cover first base Tuesday and Wilmer Flores (ear) is back in action at third.

Jace Peterson SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Jace Peterson: Out against lefty
Peterson is not in the lineup Tuesday at Colorado.
Buddy Kennedy will start at third base and bat sixth versus the Rockies and left-hander Ty Blach. Peterson, a left-handed hitter, has batted just .174 with a .409 OPS in 52 plate appearances this year against southpaws.

Austin Riley 3B | ATL
Braves' Austin Riley: Homers in win
Riley went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Monday's 11-3 victory over the Yankees.
Riley continued his torrid stretch Monday with his third home run in five games -- he's now batting .339 (42-for-124) with 13 homers and a 1.113 OPS in his last 30 contests. Overall, the 26-year-old third baseman is slashing .281/.340/.518 with 29 homers, 89 runs scored and 76 RBI through 527 plate appearances this season.

Jake Burger 3B | TEX
Marlins' Jake Burger: Walks it off Sunday
Burger went 3-for-5 with two RBI in Sunday's win over the Yankees.
His last hit was the biggest, as Burger delivered a walk-off RBI single to complete an improbable five-run comeback in the bottom of the ninth inning. The 27-year-old is thriving in Miami, reeling off three straight multi-hit performances and slashing .317/.391/.488 through his first 11 games with his new club.

Elly De La Cruz SS | CIN
Reds' Elly De La Cruz: Bounces back in nightcap
De La Cruz went 2-for-5 with a home run in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader against Pittsburgh. He was 0-for-4 in the matinee.
De La Cruz made amends for his four-strikeout performance in the afternoon loss, crushing a 442-foot homer to tie the game in the third inning. The outfielder has four hits in 14 at-bats with a triple, a home run and four RBI since being dropped from leadoff to third in the order. The home run was his 10th in 58 games for the Reds and 22nd in 96 combined contests in the minors and majors.

Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA
Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Blasts 20th homer in loss
Wisdom went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 11-4 loss against Toronto.
Sunday's game was a microcosm of Wisdom's season, as he paired his 20th home run with three more strikeouts to raise his season total to 99 in 224 at-bats. Wisdom's role has diminished since the trade deadline acquisition of Jeimer Candelario having now started just four games since Aug. 1. Wisdom's empty power production is best served in the part-time role in which the Cubs currently have him placed.

Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY
Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Not starting Sunday
McMahon is not in the starting lineup Sunday against the Dodgers.
McMahon is having a rough time at the plate in August. In his last eight games, the 28-year-old is 2-for-28. The last game he did not play in was July 16. With Sunday being a rest day, it can serve as a reset for him. In McMahon's place, Alan Trejo will start at third base and hit sixth.

Jeimer Candelario 3B | LAA
Cubs' Jeimer Candelario: Not starting Sunday
Candelario is not in the starting lineup Sunday against the Blue Jays.
Since being traded to the Cubs on July 31, Candelario has started in every game. With the Cubs in August, the infielder is slashing .425/.489/.625 in 45 plate appearances. Sunday will just be a rest day for the 29-year-old with Nick Madrigal getting the start at third.
