Reds' Noelvi Marte: Smacks second homer in blowout win
Marte went 2-for-5 with a solo home run -- his second of the season -- and an additional RBI in Friday's 19-2 win over St. Louis.
Marte slugged one of six Reds home runs on the night, one shy of matching the franchise single-game record. Cincinnati was able to keep its faint hopes for a wild-card spot alive with the win, and Marte has been an integral contributor to the team's postseason push. The 21-year-old rookie has recorded at least one hit in 14 of his last 15 starts and is slashing .357/.400/.471 in September.

Nationals' Carter Kieboom: Smacks three-run homer
Kieboom went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run, a walk and an additional run in Friday's 10-6 win over Atlanta.
Kieboom's long ball -- his fourth of the campaign -- was one of five home runs on the night for the Nationals, tying a season high for the club. The 26-year-old has heated up with a .762 OPS over his last 10 games, but he's still been stuck in a timeshare at third base with Ildemaro Vargas as the season winds down.

Diamondbacks' Jace Peterson: Logs fourth steal
Peterson went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Astros.
Peterson has just four steals this season, two of which have come over his last three games. He's seen spotty playing time in September, going 8-for-39 (.205) with four walks over 16 contests this month. The third baseman is slashing .213/.304/.310 with six home runs, 37 RBI, 35 runs scored, 10 doubles and four triples over 133 games between Arizona and Oakland this season.

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Gets breather Friday
Muncy isn't in the Dodgers' lineup Friday against the Giants, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
He'll get a day off after batting .240 (6-for-25) with zero extra-base hits, three RBI and four runs scored over his last six games. Enrique Hernandez will replace Muncy at the hot corner and bat seventh.

Giants' J.D. Davis: Season ends with shoulder strain
Davis was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday, retroactive to Sept. 27, with a left shoulder strain.
Davis injured his shoulder on a slide during Tuesday's game against the Padres and it will prematurely end his 2023 campaign. The 30-year-old will finish having slashed .248/.325/.413 with 18 home runs and 69 RBI over 144 games. Davis will be arbitration-eligible for a final time this offseason.

Pirates' Jared Triolo: Making case for 2024 role
Triolo went 2-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored Thursday against the Phillies.
Triolo has settled into a regular utility role around the infield. Since Sept. 9, he's hit .375 (18-for-48) with two home runs, five RBI and 12 runs scored, and he's recorded seven multi-hit performances across 14 starts. The Pirates will have a number of younger infielders vying for playing time to begin 2024, and Triolo may have added his name to the mix with the way he's wrapping up the current campaign.

Braves' Austin Riley: Tallies three hits in win
Riley went 3-for-4 with a triple, a double and two runs scored in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Cubs.
Riley has logged four multi-hit efforts over his last eight games, going 12-for-30 (.400) in that span. The third baseman is up to a .282/.346/.519 slash line with 37 home runs, 96 RBI, 116 runs scored, 30 doubles, three triples and three stolen bases through 156 games this season. He continues to hit in the heart of the order in a near-everyday role.
