Vientos went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and an additional run scored in Monday's 8-7 win over Washington.

Vientos hit a solo home run off Nationals starter MacKenzie Gore in the fourth inning, his second long ball over his past three games. The 24-year-old continues to crush left-handed pitching, entering Monday's game with a .444/.483/.815 slash line against southpaws. Vientos has firmly established himself as the Mets' starting third baseman, batting .339 with five home runs and 11 runs scored through 66 plate appearances.

Candelario went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, two runs scored and two RBI in Monday's win over the Rockies.

Candelario belted a two-run shot in the third inning before adding a double and another run in the fifth. After an 11-game homerless drought in the middle of May, he's knocked three home runs over his last 11 contests. During that span, he's boosted his season OPS from .663 to .739 through 214 total plate appearances. It was also Candelario's third straight multi-hit performance and his first game all season with multiple extra-base hits.

Reds manager David Bell said Monday that Marte (suspension) is scheduled to begin his rehab assignment June 11, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Marte is nearing the end of his 80-game suspension due to violating MLB's joint drug prevention and treatment program. After ramping up his activity in the Dominican Republic, Marte will travel to the United States and will likely begin his rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville, per Mark Sheldon of MLB.com. Bell noted that Marte will mostly play third base in his assignment, but the 22-year-old will also get some reps at shortstop and second base. Marte is eligible to return from his suspension June 27.

McMahon is out of the lineup for Monday's contest versus the Reds, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

McMahon will get a breather for just the second time all season as the Rockies open up a three-game set with the Reds. Alan Trejo will receive a start at third base Monday against lefty Andrew Abbott while McMahon rests up.

Muncy (oblique) said Sunday he's been shut down from swinging for the past 7-to-10 days after he felt a "twinge" around his rib cage, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

The 33-year-old landed on the injured list in mid-May with the oblique strain and doesn't appear to have made significant progress in his recovery. Per David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports, Muncy was able to field groundballs Sunday but is shut down from most baseball activities, so he's likely not particularly close to returning from the 10-day injured list.

Dunn was scratched from Sunday's lineup against the White Sox.

The 26-year-old was set to receive his first start in a week Sunday, but he'll instead sit as William Contreras and Willy Adames were late additions to the lineup. Joey Ortiz has established himself as Milwaukee's everyday third baseman, so Dunn is unlikely to see much playing time while the infield group remains healthy.

Madrigal was optioned to Triple-A Iowa on Sunday, Tony Andracki of Marquee Sports Networkreports.

The 27-year-old saw limited playing time down the stretch in May and is being sent down in favor of David Bote, who had his contract selected Sunday. Madrigal has appeared in 51 games for the Cubs this season and has a .221/.280/.256 slash line in 94 plate appearances.

Hayes went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Blue Jays.

The third baseman took Yusei Kikuchi deep in the first inning, helping to kick-start what proved to be a laugher for the Pirates. It was only Hayes' second long ball of the season and his first in three games since recovering from back issues and coming off the IL. The 27-year-old had has a rough start to the campaign, but he could be rounding into form now that he's healthy.

Vientos went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in a 10-5 loss to the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Vientos hit a solo homer off Slade Cecconi in the fifth inning then singled and scored a run in the ninth. After posting three hits Friday, Vientos followed it up with another multi-hit effort that included his third home run in his past eight games. With Brett Baty being optioned to Triple-A Syracuse, it appears Vientos will have a chance to stake his claim at third base for the Mets. On the season, Vientos now has 10 home runs and 39 RBI in 190 plate appearances between Triple-A and the majors.

Espinal entered as a pinch hitter and went 1-for-1 with a two-run home run in Friday's 5-4 win over the Cubs.

Espinal pinch hit for Will Benson against lefty reliever Drew Smyly and launched his third home run of the season to give the Reds a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. It was the first time in four games that Espinal appeared in game. The utility infielder has been useful while the Reds deal with early season injuries.
