  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Good to go Friday

Arenado (hand) is starting at third base and batting cleanup Friday against the Cubs, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

The 33-year-old had X-rays come back negative on his right hand after being hit by a pitch Thursday, and he's apparently fine given he's back in the lineup a day later. Arenado is 8-for-20 with two doubles and two RBI in his past five games, and he has a .273/.340/.386 slash line through 12 contests in June.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Struggles continue Thursday

Riley went 0-for-5 with a strikeout in Thursday's win over the Orioles.

The third baseman's been dropped down to fifth in the order, even with lefty-hander Cole Irvin on the mound for Baltimore on Thursday, but it hasn't helped wake up Riley's bat. His last homer came May 3, and in 16 games since he returned from an intercostal strain he's slashing just .161/.212/.194 with two RBI and a 4:17 BB:K. Riley's track record says he will heat up at some point this summer, and his Statcast profile suggests there's a great deal of bad luck contributing to his numbers this season -- he's in the 91st percentile in max exit velocity, 90th percentile in bat speed and 82nd percentile in hard-hit rate.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN

Diamondbacks' Eugenio Suarez: Back in lineup

Suarez started at third base and went 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored in Thursday's 11-1 win over the Angels. He was also hit by a pitch.

Suarez returned to the lineup after being replaced at the hot corner by Blaze Alexander the previous day. Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said Alexander will be given more opportunities at third with Suarez (.195/.267/.309) mired in a season-long slump.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Out of lineup versus righty

Hernandez isn't in the Dodgers' lineup versus the Rangers on Thursday.

Hernandez is on the bench again with righty Michael Lorenzen on the mound for the Rangers. Recently acquired Cavan Biggio has the start at third and is batting eighth Thursday. Hernandez, who was serving as the primary third baseman in Max Muncy's absence due to an oblique strain, appears set to fill that role against lefties while Biggio starts versus righties. For the season, Hernandez has a .724 OPS against lefties and a .493 OPS against righties.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: X-rays on hand negative

X-rays on Arenado's right hand game back negative after he was hit by a pitch during Thursday's win over Pittsburgh, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Arenado struck out swinging on a pitch that hit him in the hand during the eighth inning. He immediately headed back into the Cardinals' clubhouse to get checked out, but manager Oliver Marmol said Arenado simply suffered a bone bruise and is considered day-to-day. The 33-year-old is slashing .273/.340/.386 with a home run and five RBI since the beginning of June.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

    Phillies' Alec Bohm: Sitting Thursday

Bohm isn't in the Phillies' lineup for Thursday's game against Boston.

Bohm will get a breather Thursday after going 3-for-19 with two RBI in his last five games, allowing Whit Merrifield to start at the hot corner while batting seventh.

  • Nick Senzel 3B | LAD

Nationals' Nick Senzel: Getting breather Thursday

Senzel is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Tigers, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Senzel started each of the Nationals' last six contests, so he looks to be getting some maintenance as Washington and Detroit wrap up their series with a day game after a night game. Ildemaro Vargas will fill in at third base for Senzel, who has gotten off to a nice start to June with a .265/.375/.471 slash line through his first 10 games of the month.

  • Donovan Solano 1B | TEX

Padres' Donovan Solano: Goes yard twice in win

Solano went 2-for-4 with two home run and three RBI in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the A's.

All the Padres' offense came from long balls, with Solano supplying a solo shot off Hogan Harris in the second inning and a two-run homer off Lucas Erceg in the eighth. Solano's only other home run this season came May 27, but during that 16-game stretch he's slashing .315/.367/.519 with seven runs and nine RBI while filling in as the starting third baseman for a banged-up Manny Machado.

  • Noelvi Marte 3B | CIN

Reds' Noelvi Marte: Initiates rehab assignment Tuesday

Marte (suspension) began a rehab assignment Tuesday and is a combined 3-for-10 with a double and two runs scored in two games for Triple-A Louisville.

Marte, who is in the final two weeks of an 80-game suspension after testing positive for a banned substance (Boldenone), served at third base Tuesday then designated hitter Wednesday and played all nine innings in each contest. He's eligible to return from suspension June 27. Marte slashed .316/.366/.456 in 35 games and 123 plate appearances in the big leagues last season and is expected to be the team's primary third baseman once ready.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Tallies three hits Wednesday

Arenado went 3-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI in a 4-2 win against the Pirates on Wednesday.

Among Arenado's three hits was a third-inning RBI double that was St. Louis' only extra-base hit of the contest. The veteran third baseman batted .167 over his first seven contests in June but has perked up since, putting together a four-game hitting streak during which he has gone 8-for-16. The hot stretch has improved his season slash line to .264/.320/.386.
